USSC has partnered with USA Water Polo Olympian Genai Kerr in offering a Nike 5meter Water Polo Camp and Clinic this summer in beautiful San Diego, CA. Instruction takes place each day at the Aztec Aquaplex, located on the San Diego State University campus. Join us this winter for the Nike 5meter Winter In The Tropics Water Polo Camp.
Designed by the top coaches and athletes in the country, Nike 5meter Water Polo Camps provide in-water instruction to make an immediate impact on an athlete’s game. Young athletes will have the opportunity to learn first hand how Olympic Athletes train, meet their nutritional needs, and balance their lives.

Camp Director Genai Kerr
Genai Kerr is a USA Water Polo Olympian, coach, mentor, and true ambassador of the sport. Genai was a member of the United States Men's National Water Polo Team for 12 years and played in the 2004 Athens Olympics, 2003 & 2007 Pan American Gold Medal games, and multiple World Championships.

Staff Petar Momcilovic
Peter Momcilovic will serve as an assistant coach for both the men's and women's programs at Brown University after having spent last season as the assistant coach for the men's and women's programs at LIU.

*Please Note: Last year, camp sessions SOLD OUT at this location*. Upon arrival at camp, campers are placed in groups with other players having similar abilities and goals. Our camp staff will do their best to accommodate your needs, keeping in consideration your experience and desire to improve. Instruction takes place each day at the Aztec Aquaplex, located on the SDSU campus. Join us this winter for the Nike 5meter Winter In The Tropics Water Polo Camp.
2025 OVERVIEW OVERNIGHT CAMP
- Dates: This camp has concluded. Join the priority list to stay updated on future availability.
- Age Group: 10-18
- Gender: Coed
- Camp Type: Overnight, Day (commuter)
- Check-in: Check-in takes place at 8:30am at the SDSU Aquaplex.
- Check-out: Camp concludes at 4:00pm at the SDSU Aquaplex. Day campers check out from the SDSU Aquaplex and overnight campers will check-out from Huāxyacac Hall.
- Day Schedule: 9:00AM-4:00PM
- Meals: All meals are provided for Overnight campers. Lunch is provided for all Day (commuter) campers.
- Program: The Skills program is designed to provide youth and high school water polo players with the fundamentals, latest drills, in-water scrimmages and position specific training (Divers, Shooters, Goalies and 2 Meter Offense & Defense) essential for improvement. The goal is for campers to come home with experiences that enrich both the quality of their play and their life through a better understanding and greater appreciation for sport, as well as more developed techniques and a heightened level of self-confidence.
2025 OVERVIEW 1 DAY YOUTH SHOOTING & GOALIE CLINIC

- Program: The Goalie and Shooting Clinic program is designed for players to combine throwing mechanics with the mental aspect of reading the goalie. Goalies will cover how to stop shots, conducting the defense, assisting on counter attacks and creating game changing moments with key decisions.
2025 OVERVIEW 2 DAY HIGH SCHOOL GOALIE & SHOOTING CLINIC

DISCOUNTS AVAILABLE
- Team Discount: If five or more campers register together, each camper is eligible for a $25 discount. After all team members have successfully registered, contact us to receive a $25 refund per camper.
2025 HOUSING
- Dorm: Huāxyacac Hall
- Number of Campers Per Room: 2 per room
- Roommates: Rooms are assigned by age & roommate requests. Roommate requests must be mutual and received no later than 14 days before the start of camp. If you don't have a roommate request, you will be placed in a room with someone near your age. It will be a great opportunity to meet someone new!
- Bathrooms: Shared
- Linens: Not included. Bring linens or sleeping bag, pillow, pillowcase, and a towel.
- Air Conditioning: YES - Dorm has A/C
SUPERVISION
The staff reside in the dormitories with the campers and participate in all activities. Drugs, alcohol and tobacco are strictly prohibited, and constitute, along with general misconduct, grounds for dismissal from camp without a refund.
WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?
- Instruction: Morning, afternoon, and evening training sessions
- Overnight campers: Dormitory housing on campus and all meals are provided.
- Day campers: Lunch is NOT provided. Please bring a packed lunch.
- Supervision: Staff members reside in campers’ quarters and participate in all activities.
- Camp T-shirt & Prizes: Campers at multi-day camps will receive a Nike Swim Camps t-shirt and prizes.
INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & FACILITY
- Ratio: 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio
- Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience per the director's discretion.
- Equipment Needed: Please bring your water polo suit and towel(s)
- Facility: Aztec Aquaplex
- Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

Checklist of Things to Bring: We recommend that all Day Campers bring a daily pack with the following items: water polo suit, cap, goggles, towel, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, sandals, water bottle, dry land gear (running shoes, t-shirt, athletic shorts, sweatshirt) and any other appropriate clothing for that day’s activities which will be described to you on the first day of camp.
4 Day Camp Schedule & Meals:
- Monday: Day Camper Hours - 9:00am-4:00pm. Lunch is NOT provided. Please bring a packed lunch.

TRANSPORTATION
Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours, so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.
