Having players from different regions allowed him to learn different styles and gain experiences he would not have had at a local camp.

We were absolutely thrilled with the result of the camp. The trainer was amazing and gave us her cell number so we could check in regarding medications. We really felt like she was on top of things and that she really cared about the health of the campers. The week was hot and she was out there making sure everyone was hydrated and healthy. The coaching staff was also amazing. My son is a man of few words and couldn't stop talking about this camp for days! We will definitely send him back next year and I'm sure he will learn a lot in the next group up. Thanks for an amazing week!

From the moment of check-in, we experienced the organization, planning and professionalism that went in to putting together this fantastic camp. The coaching was terrific, enthusiastic, and supportive. My son's only complaint was that it ended too soon! We'll definitely be signing up again next year.

2026 Camp Dates Are Now Live!

Come join longtime Nike Camp Director, Bo McDougall, and get better this summer at the Nike Lacrosse Camp at Vermont State University! The quintessential New England village is within a short drive to cities such as Burlington to the north, Rutland to the east, Albany to the west, and Boston to the south.

The 165-acre campus is nestled in Vermont’s scenic Lakes Region between the state’s majestic Green Mountains and the Adirondacks of New York. Instruction each day will take place at Castleton's Spartan Stadium. The multi-use artificial turf facility opened in the fall of 2009 and is one of the finest in New England. It's going to be a great camp!

    After 12 seasons at the helm of the men's lacrosse program (2010 to 2023), Bo McDougall is stepping down to pursue a new role as the Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement for the university. McDougall won 93 games over his Castleton coaching career. His seven seasons of 10 or more wins make him the winningest coach in Castleton lacrosse's storied history. He patrolled the sidelines for two North Atlantic Conference Championships—2012 and 2014—and was named NAC Coach of the Year three times: 2012, 2013 and 2018.

    In 2017, he led Castleton to its 14th consecutive conference championship appearance. The Spartans posted a 10-9 overall record in 2017, finishing second in the NAC regular season standings at 6-1. Six players received All-Conference recognition after the season, and Louis Alhage received the Castleton Male Coaches Award, plus he was selected to participate in the NEILA East-West Senior All-Star Game.

    In 2016, he led his charges to an 11-7 mark, including non-conference wins over Plymouth State and Mount Ida. Castleton went 7-1 in North Atlantic Conference play and advanced to the NAC Title game before falling to New England College. Five players earned First-Team All-Conference honors, while the team also had the NAC Men’s Lacrosse Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year.

    In 2015, McDougall led Castleton to its third consecutive perfect record in conference play and extended the program's regular season conference winning streak to 26 games. The Spartans won the NAC Championship and fell to Amherst in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to conclude the year with a 13-6 mark. McDougall coached Zach Davidson to his third straight NAC Player of the Year honor while helping him finish third all-time in NCAA Division III history with 400 points.

    During the 2014 season, McDougall led the Spartans to their second straight unblemished mark within the North Atlantic Conference during the regulation season, going 8-0. The team advanced to the NAC Title game before falling and finishing its season at 12-6. McDougall once again had the NAC Player and Defensive Player of the Year. The squad also finished the year ranked in the top-20 nationally in ground balls, man-down defensive, face-off win percentage and caused turnovers.

    In 2013 McDougall led the Spartans to one of the best seasons in program history. Castleton went 15-4, capped off by the program's third North Atlantic Conference Championship and trip to the NCAA National Tournament. He was named the NAC Coach of the Year as he had five players named first-team all-conference and swept all the major awards including Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and the Team Sportsmanship Award. In addition to having four different players surpass 100 career goals the team ranked among the top-10 nationally in scoring, assists, ground balls, caused turnovers and scoring margin.

    In McDougall’s first season at the helm, the Spartans posted an 11-9 record, finished 7-1 in the North Atlantic Conference and was named NAC Coach of the Year. Castleton advanced to the NAC Championship but fell to New England College. The Spartans qualified as the two seed in the ECAC New England lacrosse tournament, but fell to University of New England in the semifinals. Four players earned first-team all-conference honors, including the NAC Defender of the Year Adam Farmer and NAC Rookie of the Year Zach Davidson.

    A 2006 graduate of Saint Lawrence University where he lettered in both football and lacrosse, McDougall spent 2011 as an assistant coach with the football and men’s lacrosse teams at Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) foe and in-state rival Norwich University. While at Norwich McDougall was responsible for coaching the outside linebackers with the football program, while serving as the defensive coordinator for the men’s lacrosse team.

    In 2011 the Norwich lacrosse defense ranked 13th in the nation in scoring defense, while leading the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) at 6.85 goals per game, finishing third in the GNAC standings at 9-5, 6-2.

    Prior to his stint at Norwich, McDougall spent two seasons at Saint Lawrence as a Graduate Assistant with the Saints football team. While there he received his Masters in Education Leadership and coached the team’s inside linebackers. Before that he spent two seasons at Norwich coaching the tight ends on the football team, and serving as the defensive coordinator with the lacrosse team.

2026 OVERVIEW

  • Dates: July 19-22

  • Check-In: Check-in takes place on Sunday between 2:30-3:30pm at Wheeler Hall. There will be a camp orientation meeting at 3:30pm and parents are welcome to join their campers for this meeting.
  • Check-out: Check-out takes place from 12:00pm-1:00pm at Wheeler Hall after a brief closing ceremony.
  • Extended Day Schedule: SUN 2PM-9PM MON 9PM-9PM, TUE 9AM-9PM, WED 9AM-12PM **Times subject to change
  • Meals: All meals are provided for Overnight campers. Lunch and dinner are provided for all Extended Day (commuter) campers.
  • Program: The Advanced Skills/Complete Skills Camp is designed for high school/youth players (ages 9-17), and focuses on stick skills, position play, team concepts, and an overall intense level of competition.

  • Team Discount: If five or more campers register together, each camper is eligible for a $25 discount. After all team members have successfully registered, contact us to receive a $25 refund per camper.

2026 HOUSING

  • Dorm: Wheeler Hall
  • Number of Campers Per Room: 2 per room
  • Roommates: Rooms are assigned by age & roommate requests. Roommate requests must be mutual and received no later than 14 days before the start of camp. If you don't have a roommate request, you will be placed in a room with someone near your age. It will be a great opportunity to meet someone new!
  • Bathrooms: Shared
  • Linens: Not included. Bring linens or a sleeping bag, a pillow, a pillowcase, and a towel.
  • Air Conditioning: NO - Campers may bring a fan.
SUPERVISION
The staff reside in the dormitories with the campers and participate in all activities. Drugs, alcohol, and tobacco are strictly prohibited and constitute, along with general misconduct, grounds for dismissal from camp without a refund.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?

  • Instruction: Morning, afternoon, and evening training sessions
  • Overnight campers: Dormitory housing on campus and all meals are provided.
  • Extended Day campers: Lunch and dinner are provided.
  • Supervision: Staff members reside in campers’ quarters and participate in all activities.
  • Reversible Jersey & Prizes: Campers at multi-day camps will receive a Nike Lacrosse Camps Reversible Jersey and prizes.

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & FACILITY

  • Ratio: 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio
  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience per the director's discretion.
  • Equipment Needed: Please bring your helmet, mouthpiece, cleats, lacrosse stick, gloves, and pads.
  • Facility: Castleton Athletic Fields
  • Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital

EXTENDED DAY CAMPERS

Checklist of Items to Bring: We recommend that all Extended Day Campers bring a daily pack with the following items: Along with your lacrosse equipment, we recommend that you bring a day pack with the following items: water bottle, weather-appropriate clothing, cleats, and walking shoes.

Camp Schedule & Meals:

  • Sunday: Extended Day Campers should arrive dressed and ready to play. You will be assigned a counselor and given a complete schedule of all events during the week. Day Campers stay until 8:30pm. Dinner is provided.
  • Monday-Tuesday: Extended Day Camper Hours – 9:00am-9:00pm. Lunch and dinner are provided.
  • Wednesday: Extended Day Camper Hours - 9:00am-12:00pm. Check-out is immediately after the camp concludes at 12:00pm. Departure time may change depending on the event.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours, so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

  • July 30, 2021: My son had a great time at camp and made lots of new friends. He improved his skills and made great memories. Hopefully camp will be closer to home next year so he can make local friends but he will definitely be doing this again. The camp was great and well structured. He enjoyed himself.

  • From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the Camp Director who was extremely friendly and welcoming! This was my son's first overnight camp, so we didn't know what to expect. He messaged us the 2nd evening to tell us how much fun he was having, and how much he was learning from different coaches. Everything was organized, scheduled out, and they played and practiced a ton of lacrosse. Having players from different regions allowed him to learn different styles and gain experiences he would not have had at a local camp.
  • He built so much confidence with his gameplay and it was noticeable at his subsequent summer league games.
  • The whole experience was great. My son was able to improve his skills in a positive environment. Playing with younger and older children was also a very positive aspect of this camp to learn about sportsmanship.
  • Camp was beyond a home run for my son. He was the youngest camper at the camp and the staff was great in their knowledge of the game as well as dealing with youth players. The awards at the end of camp were awesome. I was also very happy with the trainer onsite, Ellie and her expertise in dealing with the athletes. Overall the experience of a young player on a collegiate field is something great.
  • This was my son's first sleep away lacrosse camp and we (his parents) were a bit nervous about it for a few reasons: 1) he needs to take medication for epilepsy 2) we are concerned a bit about the 'lax bro' attitude that can be prevalent in a lacrosse setting. We were absolutely thrilled with the result of the camp. The trainer was amazing and gave us her cell number so we could check in regarding medications. We really felt like she was on top of things and that she really cared about the health of the campers. The week was hot and she was out there making sure everyone was hydrated and healthy. The coaching staff was also amazing. My son is a man of few words and couldn't stop talking about this camp for days! We will definitely send him back next year and I'm sure he will learn a lot in the next group up. Thanks for an amazing week!

  • My son was fortunate to take part in Castleton State College's first year hosting a Nike Lacrosse camp this August. From the moment of check-in, we experienced the organization, planning and professionalism that went in to putting together this fantastic camp. The coaching was terrific, enthusiastic, and supportive. My son's only complaint was that it ended too soon! We'll definitely be signing up again next year.
