San Rafael , CA - Led by amazing individual performances, California powered to its fourth NCAA Championship Saturday. Highlights from the weekend included, an American record in the 200 free Friday, a swimmer who was named the NCAA Swimmer of the Year and Cal head coach Teri McKeever was also chosen the National Coach of the Year. “Happy, relieved,” Coach McKeever said. “It hasn’t sunk it. It has but it hasn’t. As a coach, it’s just wonderful to see how much it means to the girls.”

Cal finished with a school-record 513 points, well ahead of runner-up Georgia, which had 452 points, and third-place Stanford, which totaled 363 points. The Bears’ previous championships came in 2009, 2011 and 2012. The year’s squad also tied the 2011 team for most event wins with seven. In all, nine different swimmers captured at least one race at the meet, either individually or on a relay.

This summer Cal Head Coach and Olympic Coach, Teri McKeever and Associate Head Coach, Kristen Cunnane, are offering two weeks of outstanding stroke technique camps on the beautiful campus of the University of California, Berkeley. Two overnight sessions are available, June 22-26 and June 26-30, for ages 9-16.
