Doug Banks

Banks enters his tenth season in 2019-20 as the Tritons' pitching coach.

Banks played as a baseball collegiate athlete at Faulkner State University. In 1990, he helped the Sun Chiefs reach the Southeast regionals posting a 9-1 record with 4 saves and a 2.21 ERA. That year he received First Team All-Conference Honors and Second Team All-Southeast Region Honors. From 1999 to 2006 he was a stalwart at Clearwater High School, first serving as pitching coach then as head coach from 2002 to 2006. In Banks' first year at Eckerd, he saw senior pitcher Joe Sinicola hurl a no-hitter against Sunshine State Conference opponent Saint Leo University during the 2007 season. During the 2011 season, he helped junior pitcher and future Major League Baseball draft selection Joe Cuda become the SSC Pitcher of the Year.
