Eddie Cribby

Cribby joins the Villanova Baseball team for the 2023-2024 season. His primary focus will be working with the catchers, and coaching first base along with a multitude of other areas.

Cribby comes to Villanova from Saint Peter’s University where he was the Associate Head Coach & Recruiting Coordinator for the 2022-2023 season. He was also responsible for the infielders and assisted with the hitters. Cribby oversaw a consistently productive infield group, highlighted by starting 2B Jack Eichler. Eichler went from a conference FLD% of .870 in 2022 to .978 in 2023, only committing two errors over 89 total chances. Eichler also ranked #14 in the entire MAAC conference in batting average with .381. The offensive unit saw multiple team records set, including total HR’s, RBI’s, BB’s, and runs scored. Starting 1B, Sam Haney, posted a .987 overall FLD% and set the individual single season HR record for Saint Peter’s. Haney was elected as a finalist for the Saint Peter’s Male Student Athlete of the Year Award. Starting 3B, Jeff Massicotte, posted a .953 conference FLD% and was elected as a finalist for Saint Peter’s Male Individual Performance of the Year Award with a 7 RBI performance against Iona.

Before Saint Peter’s, Cribby coached at Fordham University in the Bronx, New York for the 2021-2022 season. He was responsible for the infield group and assisted with the offense. In just his first year, Cribby held a major role in achieving the #1 FLD% in A-10 Conference play with a .979 FLD%.

During the summer of 2021 before Fordham, Cribby was named Bench Coach and Hitting coach for the Rochester Honkers in the Northwoods League. Cribby spent time working directly with multiple now MLB draft picks, highlighted by Mac Horvath from the University of North Carolina. Through 49 games, Horvath led the Northwoods League in OPS with a 1.032 while hitting .314 with a .471 OBP. Horvath was selected to the Great Plains All-Star selection. Cribby assisted the head coach in the day-to-day responsibilities of running a competitive collegiate summer team—recruiting top talent nationwide, organizing practice plans, running kids camps, and community involvement.

For the 2020-2021 season, Cribby was on staff at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. He held responsibilities of working with the outfield and assisted in recruiting.

Before Puget Sound and the Northwoods League, Cribby began is coaching career by creating a reputation within the local travel ball and High School community. He was head coach of the Washington A's 18U Premier team from 2019-2021, building one of the top teams in Washington his final year. He was also the pitching coach at Eastside Catholic High School from 2019-21.

Cribby earned his Bachelors in Business Administration with an emphasis in finance from the University of Washington in 2010. He played baseball at Columbia Basin College in 2005, and is originally from Kirkland, Washington. Coach Cribby is thrilled to join Villanova University and ‘Nova Nation!
