Shelby baldwin

Shelby Baldwin joined the Lawrence University coaching staff in the summer of 2021. A native of Middleton, Idaho, Baldwin came to Lawrence from Defiance College in Ohio where she had been working as an assistant coach for the track and field and cross country teams since August 2020.

Baldwin was a three-sport athlete at Middleton High School, competing in track and field, soccer and basketball as a prep athlete. Baldwin went on to attend NAIA institution Graceland University in Iowa. Baldwin was a 400- and 800-meter runner at Graceland and earned all-league honors in the Heart of America Conference. She graduated in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in corrective exercise and performance enhancement with a minor in coaching.
Baldwin went on to attend Emporia State University, a NCAA Division II member in Kansas, and was a graduate assistant coach with the track and field program. During her time with the Emporia State program, the track and field program produced eight All-Americans and three individual Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association champions. Baldwin earned a Master of Science in health, physical education and recreation from Emporia State in 2020.
During her time at Defiance, Baldwin has coached three Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference champions, including two at the recently concluded league championships.
