Willis Miles

Executive Director, Chicago Metro Umpires Association
Willis Miles began umpiring in 1982 and has created a resume that reads like a who's who of umpiring. During his stay behind the plate, Miles has umpired in seventy-five USSSA World Series events and has done forty-five Championship contests. In March of 2008, he was named United States Specialty Sports Fast Pitch Umpire of the Year. He also was named Assistant Illinois State Fast Pitch Umpire in Chief in 2010 to present.
Understanding the rules and how to make them work to your advantage is as much an important part of the game as your physical skills. Knowing the rules allows you to make better decisions and will give you an advantage during the game. Willis Miles has been a student of the game throughout his many years of officiating and will share his knowledge and experience. He and his crew will also officiate the scrimmage games during our camps and explain the rules through out the games.
