Teamwork Makes The Dream Work at Summer Camp
The 2018 US Sports Camps Summer Report
WoW! …did those summer months go by fast or what!
91,000 very lucky campers found themselves improving their skills while learning valuable life lessons – all under the guidance of top collegiate, high school, and club coaches.
Parents also got the chance to cheer their kids on at camp, watching them make new friends, and creating life long memories.
“My daughter couldn’t stop raving about the time she had at NIKE camp. She was a beginner before entering camp but did well absorbing the information the coaches gave her.” Says Catherine E., one of many mothers who dropped their children off for a week of summer camp.
“Thanks for such a positive camp!”
CEO, Charlie Hoeveler was pretty excited about how well things went.
“The camps were a huge success. We pride ourselves in coordinating camps with elite coaches that provide quality instruction at first class facilities. It was great to see kids learn so much in such a short time. At the end of the week, if the kids only have fun, and haven’t been pushed and haven’t gone through the process of improving, then I don’t think we’ve done our job.”
Campers are SERIOUS about getting better... but they like to have FUN too!
Some happy campers got to meet famous professional golfers like Vijay Singh, and other kids were just pumped to receive their Nike Camper Prize pack and have fun with their friends.
Meeting the players we look up to and getting cool Nike gear at camp is always fun :)
Other 'lucky world travelers' got an invitation to join the first ever Nike Sports Camps Tours.
"Teaming up with Legacy Global Sports to show kids a culturally rich and diverse experience on these tours is something we're very proud of this year." Says Steve Pence, President of US Sports Camps.
"Kids and parents got to make new friends from all over the country."
Steve goes on to say, “We have the best job in the world. We get to create opportunities like this for kids year after year to gain confidence in their sport, make friends, and learn valuable life skills. And for these kids to get to show off their skills against talented local youth teams in countries like Italy, Germany, Austria, England, Australia and the Dominican Republic... I can't think of anything more exciting than that.”
Our guys met some stiff local competition in the DR!
