Carlos Portas is a highly qualified coach and former professional player with a strong foundation in Spanish and American soccer. A native of Barcelona, Spain, Carlos came through the youth systems of elite clubs including FC Barcelona, FC Damm, and UE Cornellà. He continued his playing career in the U.S. at East Tennessee State University (ETSU), competing at the NCAA Division 1 level while earning a degree in Business Management.
After college, Carlos returned to Spain and spent two seasons playing professionally in the 3rd RFEF. Throughout this time, he maintained a close relationship with youth development in the U.S., leading numerous national and international camps for P4SA.
Carlos brings a unique dual perspective from both European and American soccer, combining technical precision with a deep understanding of the individual needs of young players. He is known for his engaging coaching style, motivational leadership, and emphasis on the mental side of the game. His ability to connect with players and guide them through the challenges of development is a key asset in his work with P4SA.
Now fully dedicated to youth coaching, Carlos plays a pivotal role in the continued growth of P4SA. His philosophy emphasizes individual player development, resilience, and a lifelong love for the game. Parents and players can expect a structured, high-level training environment led with professionalism, passion, and a focus on long-term growth.
