Derek Murphy
Director of Basketball
Coach Derek Murphy joined Berkshire School community in 2017 after graduating in 2014 from Bates College where he was a four year member on the Bate's men's basketball team. Prior to Bates, Coach Murphy enjoyed his experience learning and competing in boarding school at the Brooks School.
A native of Lowell, MA, Coach Murphy started his experience in coaching at nearby Central Catholic High School. In addition to coaching at the high school level for several seasons, Coach Murphy has also coached highly competitive AAU club teams.
Collectively, these experiences have helped him connect players of all levels, with college coaches at the Division I, Division II, and Division III levels.
Off the court, Mr. Murphy enjoys his role as an Assistant Director of Admission at Berkshire School. Additionally, Coach Murphy also enjoys his time in the classroom as a student and is currently working toward his Master's degree at Wesleyan University.
