The ultimate goal of self-teaching is internalizing motivation and knowing where you are, where you want to be, and how to get there step-by-step. Our professional staff consists of master teachers whose demonstrations include demanding instruction, step-by-step clarification, and playful joking to bring out the most sensitive technical points for you to grasp and imitate.

THE VOGELSINGER METHOD
Our goal is to create an environment—a GAME-LIKE ATMOSPHERE—through dynamic teaching and coaching by explanation, demonstration and participation to assist each player in creating a METHOD TO SELF-TEACH.
It is a painstaking STEP-BY-STEP method. We must create for you a crystal-clear picture of what we are trying to teach through demonstration and explanation. You must understand clearly and be able to picture every little detail in your MIND’S EYE. Moreover, you then have to see yourself performing it successfully, and physically feel it and emotionally experience it.
The ultimate goal of self-teaching is INTERNALIZING MOTIVATION and knowing where you are, where you want to be, and how to get there step-by-step. We say you “FAIL YOUR WAY TO SUCCESS” because with this method, mistakes become your guidelines.
You will become a BETTER PLAYER. You will become a BETTER PERSON, as you will learn how to work toward the goals that you set for yourself.
How is the Vogelsinger Soccer program different?
- It’s not a training camp, it’s a technical teaching camp.
- Students change bad habits and create new habits.
- Coaches give a step-by-step dissection of the mechanics of soccer – students are taught to have a full body experience - to feel, see, and do things the correct way so that they can continue to self-teach when camp is over.
- Students are pushed out of their comfort zone to try/experience techniques/skills they never have before.
- Practice in a game-like atmosphere to experience that same passion, pressure, and desire that is needed to improve and compete with the best.
- Unique and unmatched coaching method leaves students with a renewed motivation and passion for the game.
For our 2 week Academy students we offer "Yoga for Soccer Players" on Saturday morning.
EVERY athlete – irrespective of sport or discipline – has the potential to enhance his or her ability by adopting a consistent yoga practice.
Today, yoga is a mainstay for professional athletes and teams. More and more people are discovering the countless ways that yoga can be used to improve athletic performance—from increasing mental concentration and improving flexibility and balance to preventing common injuries and honing skills.
Yoga is a system of exercises for attaining bodily or mental control and well-being. Soccer players can benefit from yoga to help improve flexibility, strength and endurance. Yoga will help soccer players improve agility and concentration. Practicing Yoga will help loosen and prepare muscles for the strenuous exercise of a soccer game, which can prevent muscle strains and joint stress. Soccer players who practice yoga are more likely to be more focused and less likely to be injured during a game.
Here are just a few benefits of yoga for athletes: Improved Strength & Power, Mental Control, Better Balance & Proprioception, Stress Relief, Improved Flexibility, Improved Focus, Breath Control, Greater Endurance, Greater Stability & Injury Protection.
UNDERSTANDING THE PROGRAMS
1. INDIVIDUAL SKILLS AND TECHNIQUES
This is a program you cannot afford to miss. Coach Vogelsinger has distinguished himself as THE soccer educator. His passionate unwavering philosophy over the years is that a good technical foundation is the best tactical preparation. We offer a modern teaching method, uniquely innovative and highly motivational. It is the main reason for the program’s incomparable success.
—TECHNICAL SKILLS: The sessions are dynamic, taught in realistic technical skill sequences in ball control, passing, dribbling and striking with their correct tactical applications. Young professionals provide realistic game-like demonstrations. With uncanny perception and ability, Coach Vogelsinger has broken down the most sophisticated technical skills with clear step-by-step explanations. With ongoing dialogue, the staff keeps you focused with reminders such as “happy feet,” “magic hop,” and “get out of your comfort zone.”
---EVENING GAMES: In our evening games you can test what you have learned that day. Games, mainly 4v4 or 5v5, as well as 11v11, with two goals and goalkeepers, give you the opportunity to maximize touches on the ball and your chances to finish on a real goal.
Beginners to Advanced. Coed. Ages 9 and up. Players are grouped first by age and then by ability.
2. POSITIONAL TECHNIQUES/ TECHNICAL PROGRESSION
What makes this program so special and exciting is that you are taught by coaches who have played your position at a very high level and are able to provide you with depth and insight into the technical, tactical, and intellectual aspects of each position.
—ADVANCED FUNCTIONAL SKILL SEQUENCES: We instruct you to better understand and perform your position of choice with special attention paid in highlighting the defensive and attacking skills needed in all positions.
—EVENING GAMES: Evening games of 4v4, 5v5, as well as 11v11, with two goals and goalkeepers, are designed to give you as many touches on the ball as possible and the chance to practice what you have learned during the day.
Intermediate to Advanced. Coed. Ages 10 and up.
Players are grouped by position, then age, and then re-evaluated by ability.

Camp Questions & Answers
What is the difference between the All Star School and Academy programs?
The All Star School is a one week program. Starting on a Sunday, ending on Friday. The Mini Academy is the two week session, starting on Sunday, ending the following Friday (13 days). The players are grouped together and train together. They progress from the first week to the second, working on the skills, techniques and dribbling progression throughout the 2 week session.
What do I wear during the training sessions?
Each player receives Vogelsinger Soccer uniforms at check-in. All players must wear their uniform during on field training sessions. The one week All Star players receive one royal jersey, one gold jersey, a pair of Vogelsinger soccer shorts and a pair of socks. The Mini Academy (2 weekers) players receive two complete sets- one red and one navy (jersey, shorts and socks each). The uniforms are dri-fit and can be washed and will dry overnight. Extra uniforms may also be purchased before camp or at camp. Laundry facilities are also available on campus, in the dorms.
Does the Health & Release Form need to be signed by a doctor?
Our Health & Release Form does not require a doctor’s signature. This form is required to be filled out accurately, signed by the parent (guardian), and brought with you to the first day of camp.
How and when will I receive my Registration packet with important camp details?
Well before the start of your camp (at least 3 weeks), you will receive a Registration Packet which will include all the important details about camp: directions to camp, when to arrive, what to pack/ bring, camp address (for mail) and key camp phone numbers and the Medical/ Release form, etc.
What happens in case of inclement weather?
All campers receive their full training program each day weather permitting. In the threat of severe weather, we will adjust our schedule for the outdoor sessions, utilizing the gym, hold classroom chalk talks, adjust the schedule once the weather clears.
Can you accommodate special dietary needs?
Campers dine in the school cafeteria which offers a variety of different meal options that are sure to accommodate most campers’ dietary needs. In the case that a camper possesses extreme dietary restrictions, please reach out to school’s Dining Services to make the proper accommodations.
Are the campers supervised throughout the camp?
Yes, campers are supervised by the coaches and staff. Staff members reside in the same dorms as the campers and provide supervision during instruction, dining times, evening activities, and in the dorm. All staff members complete criminal and sex offender background checks before working the camp.
How many campers are placed in a dorm and do you accommodate roommate requests? Do the dorms have air conditioning?
The rooms at Pennington are singles, doubles and very limited triples, based on the dorm assignment. When you register for the camp, you have an option to submit a roommate request. If you would like to add a roommate request after registering for a camp, please feel free to give us a call or send us an email. We do our best to accommodate all roommate requests, made before 2 weeks before the start of camp. If the room set up you requested is not available, we will place the campers next door to their friends. Campers who do not submit a roommate request will be placed in a dorm with other runners, similar age and same gender.
Yes, the dorms have AC.
Does this camp have medical personnel on staff?
We have a certified athletic training on-site.
Can I come to camp alone or do I have to be a member of a team?
We welcome individual campers and teams. If you come to camp by yourself, we place you in a dorm room with another single camper, similar in age. It's a great place to meet new friends who share your enthusiasm for the sport and to have FUN!

Prepared for Upcoming Season
My son learned more strategy, to call for the ball, and his footwork greatly improved. He felt more prepared for his upcoming season. This camp was phenomenal! My son loved the friendly, and yet competitive atmosphere. He learned that he needed to take the feedback from the first week, and how to apply it to improve in week two. The experience was very special, and the experienced coaches made the camp that much better.
— Marcos M., Parent of Camper Lawrenceville '17
Best technical camp in the country
Incredible opportunity for technical training. As a parent, I did the 3 week academy over 25 years ago and noted the same improvements in my younger children (ages 9 and 11) after they did the one week camp this year. For shooting technique and progression, this is the best camp in the country and has been for several decades. Although the focus is all soccer, our children loved it and enjoyed the other kids in camp. - Parent of camper

Encouraged me to get out of my comfort zone
Vogelsinger is great experience for kids that are serious about Soccer. The entire coaching staff genuinely cares about our development and encourages us to get out of our comfort zone. I personally felt like I improved tremendously over the course of the 2 weeks and cannot wait to do it again next year. I'll be bringing my teammates too!
— Elijah F., Vogelsinger Soccer Academy at Lawrenceville Camper
I recommend this camp to anyone and everyone!
I really loved Vogelsinger Soccer Academy! The school was beautiful and so were the fields! My coach Eddie was amazing! I couldn't have asked for a better coach. I learned a lot at the camp and I had a lot of fun. I met a ton of new people, who I stay in touch with constantly! Vogelsinger has improved my game and my body! Soccerobics really improved my core and I loved it! I want to thank everyone who helped me at Vogelsinger camp for making me a better player for the season of my junior year! I am forever grateful! I recommend this camp to anyone and everyone who plays soccer, no matter where they are at in their game! Thank you again Vogelsinger!
— Kristen S., Vogelsinger Soccer Academy at Lawrenceville Camper
My son attended for the 1st time for a one week camp this summer. He felt the coaches and staff were exceptional and learned new techniques he plans to use this coming season. As the parent, the staff was more than helpful with any questions I had. Thank you.

Soccer filled days
The days are filled with soccer, they are long and intense. That is what I wanted. Eating, drinking, and sleeping soccer. It is great and recommend it to any serious player.
— Vogelsinger Jennifer G., Soccer Academy at Lawrenceville Camper
We loved this camp - the best soccer coaches and environment we have ever experienced. We are so excited and the international flavor was awesome to experience right here in the USA!!! Our soccer player had the time of his life and was missing camp a week after he came home. Hard to top an extraordinary camp like this! Hats off to the coaches! Thank you so much for making this such an awesome experience for Christopher!! He will definitely be back next year! Can't wait!
— Dana C., Parent of Vogelsinger Soccer Academy at Lawrenceville Camper
Vogelsinger has not only improved my skills but the defensive coach taught me how to be a better center defender and how to organize the field and communicate effectively. So I've learned people skills plus playing skills which gives me the confidence of being a total athlete. Thanks!!
— Eva J., Vogelsinger Soccer Academy at Lawrenceville Camper
Vogelsinger is a challenging camp but well worth the challenge. The coaches push you hard and also help you every step of the way. your skill level from when you start to when your finished is much improved. I highly recomend this camp,
— Brad G., Vogelsinger Soccer Academy at Lawrenceville Camper
Competitive training environment
My son enjoyed this camp. Lawrenceville School is a nice campus. School's turf facility is excellent. Coaches are nice and friendly. For kids those who have high skills and looking for competitive training environment, do not miss this camp.
— Preston S., Parent of Vogelsinger Soccer Academy at Lawrenceville Camper
One of the Best Experiences
I recommend this camp to anyone. It was one of the best experiences of my life. The coaches do know what they are doing and it will help you improve a lot in your skills. If you listen to what they have to say and you put it to practice, you will improve like I did.
— Vogelsinger Sarah W., Soccer Academy at Lawrenceville Camper
No interaction parents/coaches
I was surprised there was no interaction parents vs. coach at the end of the week. They did offer however my daughters coach did not seem approachable while other coaches were very friendly. Also I would want to know in advance home many girls will be there from her age group. I'm not sure if it was the week we selected but there were many girls my daughters age. This didn't make it challenging for the girls to play each other every night.
— Parent of Ian P., Vogelsinger Soccer Academy at Lawrenceville Camper '16
Take it to the Next Level
Vogelsinger took my game to the next level. I am not going to lie, it is terribly challenging but the friends you make and the fun you have make up for that. If you are going to go (which you should) I would suggest the two week camp. Not only do you get a week more training at the best soccer camp in America but you also get to create stronger bonds with your friends.
— Vogelsinger Misty R., Soccer Academy at Lawrenceville Camper
Find activities for when it rains
I think you have to figure out something better to do with the kids if it rains- leaving them in their hot rooms for hours seems like a waste. Also, I think you could integrate swimming more often- these are hot hot days and the kids would benefit from that I think. Some of these kids are young- they might need a bit more direction.
— Erika T., Parent of Vogelsinger Soccer Academy at Lawrenceville Camper '16
Attending Again Next Year
My son's skill and confidence level improved noticeably after one week at Vogelsinger. He respected the abilities of his coaches, was comfortable in the dorm and on the fields, and made good friends. He will attend again next year.
— Nathan C., Parent of Vogelsinger Soccer Academy at Lawrenceville Camper
It’s the best camp there is. The coaches are very well qualified and teach very well. It has been one of the best experiences of my life and I would return at any time.
— Vogelsinger Pat S., Soccer Academy at Lawrenceville Camper
Level of participants not high enough
In overall, the level of participants were not high as much as I expected so was not challenged as much as I wish. Also not even sigle laundry machine in my building worked and I am very disappointed that you still assigned kids in the building without fixing them.
— Gregory P., Vogelsinger Soccer Academy at Lawrenceville Camper '16
Lots and lots of soccer! Only dedicated kids and professional coaching. Very impressed.
— Parent of Aaron D., Vogelsinger Soccer Academy at Lawrenceville Camper
Definitely want to return
I really loved the Vogelsinger camp. It was such a great experience meeting people from all over the world - both coaches and players. I have made new friends from all over. I really enjoyed the level of play in the scrimmages and the training. I definitely want to return next year and for more than 1 week. It was a great time!
— Mae B., Vogelsinger Soccer Academy at Lawrenceville Camper
Pushed me every day
Volgelsinger was a great camp. It will make you a better player. I thought the entire coaching staff did an excellent job. Not only did they push me every day but they were also very approachable. It was no walk in the park (beleive me!) but the coaches were very encouraging and inspiring, which isn't the case with a lot of other camps I have attended.
— Gregg C., Vogelsinger Soccer Academy at Lawrenceville Camper
