Coach Rader began playing rugby in 2007 for the Army (West Point) Black Knights. He transferred to the University of Arizona where he played for the legendary Dave Sitton and was teammates with USA Eagles Brett Thompson, Peter Tiberio, and Ryan Matyas. While playing for the Wildcats he was given the opportunity to play in Barcelona, Spain and toured for Barcelona Universitari. After graduating from Arizona, Coach Rader played for Stellenbosch University in South Africa while attending graduate school. Following his time in South Africa, Coach Rader moved back to the United States where he began law school at Michigan State. Since beginning law school he has been the head coach of the Michigan State men’s 7s program and an assistant coach for the 15s program. This past summer he played for OMBAC's 7s.
