Edson Cardona

Born and raised in the bay area, Edson Cardona, CEO of PMP Academica, is a prominent soccer coach known for his passion and commitment to developing young talent since 2016. His intrinsic love for the sport and expertise has made him a notable mentor to elite soccer players of all levels including youth, collegiate, and professional. After playing professionally in Europe, Central America, and North America, Edson has trained alongside a diverse array of coaches and training styles. He hopes to piece together these technical and life lessons to build a roadmap for the next generation of players.

Professional Career: After playing on various youth teams such as Santa Clara Sporting, PAC Tigres, and DeAnza Force Academy to name a few, he played college-level soccer at Santa Clara University (2013-2017). He went on to be a part of the El Salvador U-23 National Team for the Brazil Olympic Qualifiers (2016) and he continued his career in Europe playing for Zejtun Corinthians in Malta First Division (2018) and SV Rottenman in Austrian Landesliga (2019). Returning to the US in 2019, he played for Ontario Fury in the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) and then Bay Cities FC in 2022.

Training Career: Alongside his father, Edson co-founded PMP Academica LLC, a player development company, program, and family-oriented community. As the lead coach, he curates and leads individual and group training sessions with players of all ages. Aside from the hundreds of skilled youth he has worked with, Coach Edson has had the privilege of building a network with players and coaches from universities and organizations such as: Santa Clara University, Stanford University, UCLA, Duke University, the MLS & NWSL, US Youth National Teams, and overseas professional teams. While managing PMP Academica, he also worked in administration for the Santa Clara University Women’s Soccer team as the Recruiting and Video Coordinator (2022) and served on the varsity girls coaching staff at Valley Christian High School (2021-2022 & 2022-2023 season).
