Nike Soccer Camps Teams up with Julie Foudy Sports Leadership Academy in San Diego

San Rafael, CA--Nike Soccer Camps is excited to partner with the Julie Foudy Sports Leadership Academy at the University of San Diego girls soccer camp this summer, June 17-20. The Julie Foudy Sports Leadership Academy focuses on two overlapping components, sports and leadership. This program is integrated into the technical curriculum that the University of San Diego coaches have created. The goal at camp is to teach and inspire each camper to become leaders on the field and leaders in life.

JFSLA’s camp curriculum utilizes a variety of teaching methods such as team building, improv/public speaking, small group discussions and collaboration, fun competitions, and personal leadership projects. Most importantly: laughter is permitted. Laughter is the glue that brings the program together.

“Laughter was always present on the US team. And because the team enjoyed what we were doing so much, we worked incredibly hard to get better,” Julie Foudy states. Foudy played for the US Women’s National Team from 1987-2004 and won two World Cups and one Olympic gold medal. She is also announcing at the Women’s World Cup this summer.

Coach Louise Lieberman and her staff use drills aimed at improving technique, team play, and conditioning. She is excited to have the Julie Foudy Leadership Academy as an added bonus for her week one campers.
