Nike Softball Camps at Georgetown College will be a memorable experience for athletes of all abilities. This softball camp provides the ideal environment to improve your skills, make new friends, and have fun!
Camp Director and Head Coach of Georgetown College Softball, Thomas Thornton, will lead instruction during the week. Instruction will cover all aspects of softball including hitting, fielding, pitching, baserunning, team play, and more!

Alma Mater: Georgetown College '93Record at Georgetown (years): 522-285 (18 years)Coaching Record (years): 522-285 (18 years)Milestones: Recognized at National Fastpitch Coaches Association meeting for earning 200 wins, 2-time MSC regular season champions, 2-time MSC tournament champions, Region XI runner-up (2004), coached first NAIA tournament team at Georgetown, coached 2 NAIA All-Americans.

Education: Bachelor of Science in physical education, Georgetown College '89Master of Science iin criminal justice, Eastern Kentucky University '12 Coaching Experience: Assistant Softball Coach Georgetown College, 2012-present Previous Work: Served 23 years at Lexington Division of Police. Retired at rank of Commander in 2014 Milestones: Lettered four years in basketball and softball; Athletic Hall of Fame Inductee, Class of 2007; 1988 Softball Team Member Athletic Hall of Fame Induction, Class of 2010; 1989 Basketball Team Member Athletic Hall of Fame Induction, Class of 2013; Donna Hawkins Coaching for Significance Award, 2017; ASA Class A Women's Slow Pitch National Championship; 1994 Batting Champion Award; 1997 Batting Champion Award; three-time all-tournament team honoree
Instruction will focus primarily on hitting, position fielding, base-running, and game situations. In addition, pitchers will have the opportunity to work with pitching instructors. You can expect high demand on these first-come-first-serve camper spots, so please be sure to register early.

- Dates: CAMP WILL NOT RUN THIS SUMMER. CHECK BACK IN 2024.
- Age Group: 11-16
- Camp Types: Day Camp
- Schedule: Monday-Thursday | 9:00am-4:00pm
- Check-In: 8:30am on Monday at the Georgetown College Softball Field
- Meals: Lunch is not provided. Please bring a snack/lunch to camp each day.

- Supervision: Campers are supervised by staff during camp hours

INSTRUCTION & FACILITY
Ratio: 1:10 staff to camper ratio
Groupings: Campers are initially grouped by age and moved around accordingly based on skill level.
Facility: Outdoor Fields. Indoor facilities are available during inclement weather conditions.

Below is a suggested list of clothes, equipment and personal items. US Sports Camps is NOT responsible for lost or stolen articles or money.
Small gym bag/backpack
Athletic clothing: t-shirt, shorts, softball pants (recommended)
Cleats & sneakers
Catchers gear (if applicable)
Packed lunch and snacks
Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
Nike Softball Camps does not provide transportation from airports, train stations or bus depots. If you have a child flying to camp, please arrange a shuttle or taxi service.
If you have a group of campers registering for the same camp, each camper is eligible for a discount. Please have someone contact the US Sports Camps office at 1-800-645-3226 with the names of each camper in the group and we will create a unique discount code for your group. Campers may then register individually through the website at their convenience and apply the offer code during checkout. *Discount amount varies by program. Please call for details.
