Golf Tip: Tips to Improve Your Driver Accuracy

Tip Photo Driver Accuracy

Learning how to control the accuracy, trajectory, and distance of your driver will allow you to be in better positions off the tee box where you can attack the greens and lower your scores. There are a lot of different areas where you can find yourself in a bad position in the game of golf. Not being able to effectively get off the tee box is one of the most common ways to put yourself in a bad position on the course where you can easily find yourself in trouble which can have a large effect on your score. Being able to control the accuracy of your driver will allow you to lower your score by putting yourself in good positions immediately. Tip #1 – Use Your Grip:

Positioning your hands is one of the most important aspects of your swing. You should alter your grip regularly depending on the different types of shot you will be hitting. Using the same grip over and over again may feel comfortable, however, it could be hurting your game. Having a good grip is extremely important, if your grip is too loose this will allow your driver’s face to be open which will result in a slice, if your grip is too strong this will lead to hooking your driver. Next time you go to the driving range, practice different grips to give you a better idea of how to hit the correct shot based on your game.

Tip #2 – Keep Your Wrists Flat:

When you keep your wrists flat this will allow for your drives to have more energy out through your hands. Keeping your wrists flat will also allow for you to make square contact with your driver as you accelerate through the ball which will result in better ball flight and more accuracy.

Tip #3 – Lean Into Your Shot:

Many golfers have a tendency to lean too far into their shot which can lead to big mistakes getting off the tee box. Leaning too far into your shot can lead to poor ball striking which inevitably leads to a miss hit and your ball to go in different directions. The way to improve this is to steepen the tilt of your shoulders which can help create a much rounder swing and a more shallow swing which will lead to more accuracy off the tee box.

Tip #4 - Focus On Your Stance:

A lot of golfers forget about the importance of a good stance. Golfers tend to have a narrow stance, which will lead your lower body to become too active in your swing which will make the ball go in unexpected directions. You want to have a wide and broad stance when you set up to hit your drive. The wider your stance is will allow for your swing to become more open and will create a much straighter golf shot.
