The Pioneers ranked near the top of the country in a number of statisitcal categories in Fulks' first year, including rebounding margin (3rd) and field goal percentage (5th). Under Fulks' guidance, Lewis & Clark found their place atop the Top-25 USA Today rankings each the past three years, ranking as high as seventh nationally in 2011 on its way to a 25-4 season. Following the 2011 season, Fulks was named NWC Coach of the Year while player Kristina Williams earned NWC Player of the Year honors. Fulks' Pioneer squad grew in success, recording three-straight NCAA tournament appearances, three 20-win seasons, and two Northwest Conference Championships.

Jim Bray joins the Transylvania staff as an assistant coach for both the baseball and women’s basketball teams. Bray comes to TU by way of Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Ore., where he held the same positions for four years.

During his time at Lewis & Clark, Bray was a recruiter, infielders coach, third base coach and a hitting coach for the baseball team. His work with infielders in 2014 led to a reduction in errors by nearly a third of the previous year’s total, and a 45% increase in double plays from the previous season. As a recruiter, Bray helped bring in two recruiting classes, which entailed 20 players from nine different states.

Bray was also a part of the winningest coaching staff in Lewis & Clark women’s basketball history, focusing on defense, rebounding, and recruiting. During Bray’s reign, the team won two conference championships, earned three NCAA D-III tournament appearances and finished in the USA Today Top 25 for three consecutive seasons.

Before coaching, Bray was a two-year letter winner and captain for the Lewis & Clark baseball program, driving in 40 career RBIs and hitting 10 home runs. He started 57 games for the Pioneers, playing mainly as a corner infielder.

Prior to Lewis & Clark, Bray spent two seasons playing wood bat baseball at Clackamas Community College. Bray split time at the infield positions before finding a home at first base during his second year in the program. In his sophomore year, Bray was named Second-Team NWAACC All-South Region first baseman, batting .280 with a perfect fielding percentage. He was also recognized for his academics, being named to the NWAAC All- Academic team while graduating with an Associate of Arts degree.

In addition to his coaching at Lewis & Clark College, Bray coached summer baseball for the Lake Oswego Junior Baseball Organization (LOJBO) for four years making the state championships twice. He ran the LOJBO hitting league, while also working as an instructor for Nike, Under Armour Top 96, Trosky Baseball, NW Star Baseball Academy and Stanford Baseball Camps.

As a student, Bray interned in the Lewis & Clark athletics department as an assistant to the Sports Information Director. He also served as the head assistant to the Lewis & Clark Facilities Manager. Bray graduated from Lewis & Clark with a Bachelor’s degree in economics in 2010.

Scholarships

We cannot offer scholarships due to NCAA regulations. Our affiliation with NCAA coaches and schools puts us in a position where any scholarship money can be seen as an inducement to a future collegiate athlete. This puts our coaches and our host universities in jeopardy of damaging their status with the NCAA and incurring penalties at the hands of their organizing body.

Great group of instructors

July 21, 2016: I cannot say enough great things about this program and the people who instruct it. My daughter left with such confidence that if there had been a camp immediately following it, I would have enrolled her. Thanks for all you do. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. I got such joy out of seeing my daughter and other girls grow and learn. Love love love this school and camp. Without a doubt, we will be there next year. We have already started saving and planning our trip.

The Transylvania University staff is outstanding!

July 22, 2016: The Transylvania University coaching staff led by Coach Fulks were outstanding! They were organized, informative, and fun. The girls were in small groups and had multiple staff members with them at all times. My daughter attended both the Shooting Camp and All Skills Camp. She really enjoyed the three shooting competition drills during the Shooting Camp and the individual sessions dealing with rebounding, transitioning, offense and defense. Even though she wasn't an overnight camper, she was allowed to use the dorm during breaks and hang with everyone else, which she thought was awesome! She loved all of the coaches, made many new friends, and was really excited about the support from many of the older campers gave her during the practice sessions.

My daughter made friends from different parts of the state.

July 21, 2016: My daughter absolutely loved the camp. It was very well organized and managed timely, so there wasn't a lot of down time. She said they worked hard, but had fun and would love to go back next year. She enjoyed meeting new kids from different parts of the state and even exchanged numbers with a couple. She learned a lot and will hopefully put it to good use in practice and in games.
