Nike Water Polo Camps is excited to offer its 1st annual summer camp in Tacoma, WA at the University of Puget Sound. The camp combines elite-level technique instruction with an unforgettable summer camp experience! Next Athletes, operator of the Nike Sports Camps at Puget Sound, provides the ideal environment to learn from some of the best coaches in the country. The coaching staff is comprised of dedicated college coaches, high school coaches, and collegiate athletes who are committed to helping campers improve their game and create memories that last a lifetime. The camp is coed, and open to campers ages 10-17.
OVERNIGHT CAMP
The overnight program includes instruction, training and fun games, overnight accommodations, all meals, FUN evening activities and more. Our amazing staff resides in the dorms in adjacent rooms to the campers and provides supervision throughout the camp. The camp utilizes the on-campus pool at the Athletics & Aquatics Center as well as other local swim complexes when necessary.
DAY CAMP (9:00AM – 4:00PM)
The Nike Water Polo Camp at University of Puget Sound also offers a day camp program for campers who do not wish to stay overnight. This option includes instruction and daytime activities only. The schedule is modified on the first and last days of camp.

Certified Athletic Trainer Kulsum Baig
Kulsum Baig is a certified athletic trainer and handles all athletic training needs for Next Athletes’ Nike Sports Camps. With a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from San Diego State University and a Graduate Certificate in Musculoskeletal Injury Management from the University of Kentucky, Kulsum has worked with athletes at the high school, collegiate, and clinical levels.

Camp Details
SECURE YOUR SPOT!
You can expect high demand for these first-come-first-served camper spots, so please be sure to register early. This summer, the camp at University of Puget Sound is offering one session of overnight with a day camp (9:00am-4:00pm) option for boys and girls, ages 10-17. Upon arrival at camp, campers are placed into groups with other swimmers with similar ages and ability levels. Our camp staff will do their best to accommodate every camper’s needs, with consideration of their experience and desire to improve.
2025 OVERVIEW
- Dates: August 4-7
- Age Group: 10-17
- Gender: Coed
- Camp Type: Overnight & Day (commuter)
- Check-in: OVERNIGHT campers check-in between 7:30-8:00am on Monday. There will be camp staff at the entrance to direct you. Overnight campers will check into their dorm prior to arrival. DAY campers should arrive between 8:00-8:30am. There will be a camp orientation at TBA at 8:30am following check-in which we highly encourage the parent or guardian to attend. Parents are welcome to depart following orientation.
- Check-out: A closing ceremony will take place at TBA at 12:00pm on Thursday. Day Campers will be picked up immediately following the closing ceremony. Overnight campers check-out from the dorm immediately following orientation.
- Day Schedule: MON 8AM-3:454PM, TUE-WED 9AM-3:45PM, THURS 9AM-3:454PM **Times subject to change
- Meals: All meals are provided for Overnight campers. Meals are not provided for Day campers: Lunch is not provided. Please bring a packed lunch OR cash to buy lunch on campus.
- Parent/Camper Seminars: Both campers and parents are invited to join us from 7:30-8:30pm each night for evening seminars. Guest speakers include college coaches, college recruiting experts, current and former collegiate athletes, and our sports psychology director.

DISCOUNTS AVAILABLE
- Team Discount: If five or more campers register together, each camper is eligible for a $25 discount. After all team members have successfully registered, contact us to receive a $25 refund per camper.
CAMP CHECK-IN
Monday, August 4th
- OVERNIGHT campers check in between 7:30-8:15am on Monday at TBA. There will be camp staff at the University entrance to direct you. Overnight campers will check into their dorm prior to arrival. Day campers will check in at TBA between 8:00-8:30am. There will be a camp orientation meeting at TBA from 8:30-9:00am which we highly encourage the parent or guardian to attend. After which the parents are welcome to depart.
CAMP CHECK-OUT
Thursday, August 7th
- A closing ceremony will take place at TBA at 3:45pm. Day Campers will be picked up immediately following the closing ceremony. Overnight campers check-out from the dorm immediately after the closing ceremony.
2025 HOUSING
- Dorm: TBA
- Number of Campers Per Room: 2 per room
- Roommates: Rooms are assigned by age & roommate requests. Roommate requests must be mutual and received no later than 14 days before the start of camp. If you don't have a roommate request, you will be placed in a room with someone near your age. It will be a great opportunity to meet someone new!
- Bathrooms: Shared
- Linens: Not included. Bring linens or sleeping bag, pillow, pillowcase, and a towel.
- Air Conditioning: No - dorms do not have A/C
SUPERVISION
The staff reside in the dormitories with the campers and participate in all activities. Drugs, alcohol and tobacco are strictly prohibited, and constitute, along with general misconduct, grounds for dismissal from camp without a refund.
WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?
- Instruction: Morning, afternoon, and evening training sessions
- Overnight campers: Dormitory housing on campus and all meals are provided.
- Day campers: Lunch is provided.
- Supervision: Staff members reside in campers’ quarters and participate in all activities.
- Camp T-shirt & Prizes: Campers at multi-day camps will receive a Nike Water Polo Camps t-shirt and prizes.
INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & FACILITY
- Ratio: 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio
- Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience per the director's discretion.
- Equipment Needed: Please bring your water polo suit, swim cap, and towel(s)
- Facility: Wallace Pool
- Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

- Signed Health & Release forms and waivers (forms completed online do not need to be printed and turned in at camp)
DAY CAMPERS
Checklist of Things to Bring: We recommend that all Day Campers bring a daily pack with the following items: water polo suit, swim cap, goggles, towel, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, sandals, water bottle, dry land gear (running shoes, t-shirt, athletic shorts, sweatshirt) and any other appropriate clothing for that day’s activities which will be described to you on the first day of camp.
Camp Schedule & Meals
- Day 1: Day Campers should arrive dressed and ready to play. You will be assigned a counselor and given a complete schedule of all events during the week. Day Campers stay until 4:00pm. Lunch is provided.
- Day 2: Day Camper Hours – 9:00am-4:00pm. Lunch is provided.
- Day 3: Day Camper Hours - 9:00am-4:00pm. Lunch is provided.
- Day 4: Check-out is immediately after the camp concludes. Lunch is provided
TRANSPORTATION
Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours, so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.
