MB Sports Camps and US Sports Camps team up to offer an outstanding Nike Lacrosse Camp at the University of Central Florida. The program runs from Monday afternoon to Friday afternoon - the longest Nike lacrosse camp this summer!

The University of Central Florida is located in beautiful Orlando, FL. The campus has a unique layout designed to be ideal for pedestrains and boasts top-notch Division I sports facilites. Campers will receive instruction by a staff of high level lacrosse coaches and train 5-6 hours per day. Fun evening activities will follow the on field instruction.

Camp Details

SUPERIOR SUPERVISION:

The MBSC/Nike Sports Camps at the University of Central Florida has double the Supervision! We hire two separate staff groups: coaching staff and counselor staff. This ensures that coaches are not overworked and can adequately teach and coach lacrosse every day. It also ensures that your children are being well supervised during all non-sport hours. 
 

OVERNIGHT CAMP:

Over three quarters of our enrollment is comprised of overnight campers. Overnight Campers will report on Monday, June 9th between 9:00am-11:00am to the Libra Center. All meals, lodging, formal lacrosse instruction and leisure time activities are provided for our campers. Overnighters stay 2 per room in student dorms located within walking distance to the fields. Roommates are guaranteed so long as both campers request each other.

EXTENDED DAY CAMP:

Offered to players who live within commuting distance of the University of Central Florida or will be staying off-campus.  Extended Day students will report Monday, June 9th at 11:00am to the Libra Center for an initial evaluation. Group lessons will be taught Monday through Friday from 9:00am – 5:00pm. Extended Day campers will also particiapte in evening activites and be provided with lunch and dinner at our school dining room.
 

DAY CAMP:

Offered to players who live within commuting distance of the University of Central Florida or will be staying off-campus.  Day students will report Monday, June 9th at 11:00am to the Libra Center for an initial evaluation. Group lessons will be taught Monday through Friday from 9:00am – 5:00pm. Day campers will be provided with lunch at our school dining room.
 

CHECK-OUT:

Check out is on Friday, June 13th between 4:00pm-5:00pm.  Friday is technically a full day of camp. Campers checking out Friday are allowed to attend their 2nd sports session from 2:00pm-4:30pm; we therefore suggest the 4:00pm-5:00pm checkout to get the most out of your camp session(s). Your check out location is the same dorm that you checked in to unless otherwise notified by our staff at check-in.  Day Campers receive their camp evaluation at check-out.  Day Camper check-out is the same as everyday, after the second sports session around 4:45pm.
 

AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION:

We have campers coming from all over the world, and we are one of the few camps that offer airport and train pick up/drop off services.  If you are flying into the Orlando International Airport transportation to and from camp is available.  Transportation forms are included in the registration packet. Price: $175 (Round-trip); $87.50 (One way)
 

EXTRA ACTIVITIES:

Activities are not mandatory, and campers either choose to attend a few activities during the week, all activities, or no activities. Off campus evening activities have additional costs and will be chosen closer to camp via the Additional Services Forms Online.  Forms are sent around April/May via the Directors.Either way, for those campers who stay back: There will be plenty to do such as our ping pong room, watching movies, board games, card games, volleyball, and more. Counselors stay back to keep the appropriate ratios on the trip and back at the dorms!
 

Lacrosse campers receive 5 to 6 hours of daily instruction covering:

1. Shooting
2. Dodging
3. Ground Balls
4. Fast Breaks
5. Feeding & Finishing
6. Cutting
7. Stick Skills
8. Clears
9. Face-Off
10. Wing Play
11. Offensive and Defensive Fundamentals
 
In addition, scrimmages (6x6 and full field) take place throughout each session. Campers are evaluated on the first day and are divided considering ability, position, size and age. All campers must bring their own equipment.
 

DISCOUNTS AVAILABLE:

Team Discount: If five or more campers register together, as a group by mail or fax, each camper will receive a $25 discount. Click “Get Brochure” above and print the application. All applications must be received at the same time via mail or fax. If all members of your group pay with a Visa or MasterCard, feel free to fax your applications to 415-479-6061 to expedite processing. Late or individual registrations are not eligible to receive the group discount.
 
Goalie Discount: To ensure each session has enough goalies for drills and scrimmages, all goalies automatically qualify for a special $50 discount. You can call 1-800-645-3226 to receive the goalie discount over the phone or you can indicate that you are eligible for the goalie discount in the “comments” field when registering via our secure website.  Goalie discount cannot be combined with any other discount.

Facilities

Camp Setting

Campers will stay on and train at the 1,415-acre main UCF campus in Orlando, Florida. The campus boasts modern facilities, most of which have wireless abilities, with 600 acres set aside for lakes, woodlands, and an arboretum. Players will train at the UCF Recreation and Wellness Center giving them access to 6 outdoor turf fields!

UCF's on campus dorms offer newly renovated, air-conditioned rooms in a safe and secure environment. Campers will enjoy their meals at one of UCF's premier dining facilites on campus and features 12 food stations: Chef's Plate, Deli, Produce Market, Pizza, Vegeterian, Smoothie, Desert, Soup, Grill and more.

Nick Cotter, the camp's lead instructor, played his college lacrosse at Dowling College, a perennial Division II powerhouse on Lond Island. As a sophomore, Cotter was a 2nd Team All-Conference and was voted a Honorable Mention All-American with 29 goals and 4 assists. He helped lead Dowling College to its first National Championship appearance, where they fell to Le Moyne College. Cotter followed up with an outstanding junior campaign, garnering 2nd Team All-Conference and All-American accolades again. He finished his college career as a senior with 35 goals and 5 assists, and he was voted 1st Team All-American. Cotter finished his career at Dowling as the all-time leading goal scorer from the midfield.

Cotter was drafted in the 2nd Round of the professional National Lacrosse League draft to the Boston Blazers in 2008. He spent 3 seasons as a major contrubutor to the Blazers, and he finished the 2011 campaign fifth on the team in scoring (15 goals, 15 assists). This will be Nick's second summer as lead instructor at UCF.
