Derek Evely has been coaching professionally for the past 30 years. He has been a member of numerous Canadian and British national teams including the Olympic Games, IAAF World Championships, Commonwealth Games, Pan American Games and European Championships.
He has coached numerous national team members and was the development coach for Olympic Bronze Medalists Dylan Armstrong (shot put) and Sophie Hitchon (hammer throw). Coach Evely’s athletes have broken 9 national records (Canada & UK) and earned over 70 national and 7 international championship medals (including 3 World Junior Championships medals). He has also coached successful international hammer throwers Mark Dry and Sultana Frizell.
