Get ready for an amazing experience at the Nike Throws Camp with former Canadian and GB & NI National Team Coach Derek Evely, who has been coaching professionally across all Major Championships, including the Olympic Games, World & European Championships, and Commonwealth Games, for the past 30 years.
Coach Evely will be joined by Shot, Discus, and Hammer specialist, and current University of Virginia Assistant Track & Field Coach (Throws), Brandon Amo, who led multiple NCAA Champions in the throws while at Harvard.
Hosted at the EveltrakSport Throwing Field, this throws-specific Track and Field Camp offers action-packed training and coaching fundamentals, including daily Hammer Throw specific training, helping to improve your athletes fitness and technical throwing skills.

- Dates: July 8-12, 2024
- Age Group: 11-17 (Middle & High School)
- Gender: Co-ed
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00AM-1:00PM
- Check-in: 15 minutes prior to camp start time
- Campers should bring their own snacks/drinks

NIKE THROWS CAMP COACHES CLINICS, JULY 8TH - 11TH, 2024
In conjunction with our summer throws camps, we are offering daily coaches clinics. The specific dates & event focus are as follows:
July 8th > 1:30PM - 3:00PM: Hammer with Brandon Amo & Derek Evely
July 9th > 1:30PM - 3:00PM: Discus with Brandon Amo
July 10th > 1:30PM - 3:00PM: Hammer with Brandon Amo and Derek Evely
July 11th> 1:30PM - 3:00PM Shot Put with Josh Freeman
Fee includes day-of camp attendance for coach (9:00am - 1:00pm) and then a 90-minute post-camp clinic where coaches interact with the clinic coaches. Coaches will be observers ONLY during the athlete camp session.
Fee: $100 per day/clinic, $300 for all 4 days/clinics

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & FACILITY
- Ratio: 1:10
- Grouped by: age, ability, and experience
- Equipment needed: Campers should bring at least two pairs of broken in running shoes. Event shoes are optional. Please be sure to properly mark your equipment, so that it can be easily identified.
- Facility: EveltrakSport Throwing Field
CHECKLIST OF THINGS TO BRING:
Below is a suggested list of clothes, equipment and personal items. US Sports Camps is NOT responsible for lost or stolen articles or money.
ALL CAMPERS:
- Extra Athletic clothing
- 1-2 pairs of broken in running/event shoes.
- Water bottle
- Packed lunch/snacks
- Sunblock
- Small gym bag/backpack
- Extra spending money (suggested $40)
TRANSPORTATION
Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.
MEDICAL PROTOCOL
Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
CAMP TUITION PAYMENTS
Full payment of camp fees must be completed by the first day of the month before camp. For example:
- June Camps: final payment is due on May 1
- July Camps: final payment is due on June 1
- August Camps: final payment is due on July 1
Any camper with an unpaid balance 10 days before the start of their camp will forfeit all camp fees paid to date and be removed from the camp.
Your confirmation email shows your balance due and balance due date. Final payments can be made through the US Sports Camps Customer Portal or by phone at 1-800-645-3226.

Camp Questions & Answers
Does the Health & Release Form need to be signed by a doctor?
Our Health & Release Form does not require a doctor’s signature. This online form is required to be filled out accurately, signed by the parent (guardian), and completed before your first day of camp.
Can I come to camp alone or do I have to be a member of a team?
We welcome individual campers and teams. It's a great place to meet new friends who share your enthusiasm for the sport and to have FUN!
Are the campers supervised throughout the camp?
Yes, campers are supervised by the coaches and staff. All staff members complete criminal and sex offender background checks before working the camp.
