Coach Profile
Camp Director
Tim Byram
Tim Byram is the Women's Head Volleyball Coach at Endicott College, 9x CCC Conference Champions
Coach Byram was named 2022 AVCA DIII Regional Coach of the Year and led his team to win the CCC Conference Championship. The Endicott women’s volleyball team has been under the guidance of Tim Byram since the start of the millennium. The program has developed into one of the top teams in both the conference and New England and has won five of the last six CCC Championships. With an overall record of 423-293 (.591) and a conference record of 157-30 (.839) in the 21 years with Byram at the helm, the team is looking to continue the level of success and return to the NCAA tournament.
One of Byram’s beliefs is to schedule top out of conference teams to challenge his team throughout the season. The team's schedules over the past 15 years have perennially been one of the toughest in the region. The '21 schedule included 3, five-set matches (including a win over #10 Tufts) with teams who were in the D3 elite and several other nationally ranked teams as well!
“Generally, we will schedule as tough as possible and play the best competition to get ready for postseason play,” Coach Byram stated.
Throughout the difficult schedule, travel and practices, academics have remained a top priority in his program. During his tenure, 28 women have been named Academic All-Conference and there have been three that were named the Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
“Dedication in the classroom is a must in my program. The women know that they are here for a quality education and that playing volleyball is secondary to that. We take pride in our performance both on and off the court.”
Within his philosophy, Byram likes drills and exercises that foster competition. The large majority of his practices and drills focus around game-like situations.
“We will do more drills in a six-on-six format than small group drill work because it has to be game-like. Practicing game situations will only strengthen our chances for success when the situation arises in the middle of a match.”
With such a competitive environment in the gym that challenges the women to push each other to be the best, the individual accolades have surely been received. There have been numerous weekly and individual postseason honors earned by the players but the award the team is always striving for is the CCC Championship. Each player knows that they will all be dependent on each other for the team to raise its fifth banner this season.
