Feautre Image Tip Roy Benson

Finding out the intricate tricks to improve your running can be difficult. Coach Roy Benson has published over 400 papers, and has years of experience working as a fitness specialist. Benson offers some tips to improve endurance, recovery time, and pre-race preparation.

  • 1)For a runner to improve endurance Benson suggests running easier aerobic mileage by adding a mile or two to your warm up and cool downs.  He says that adding two or three more easy miles to your long runs is the safest way to get faster.
  • 2)To help improve your recovery time Benson’s says to sleep more and jog slower on your easy days. Also, Benson says it is important to eat quality carbs, fruits, and vegetables.
  • 3)When it comes to race day runners often have jitters and are trying to channel their emotions Different runners have different ways in which they manage their emotions. Some runners perform best when they are at a peak stress level, and others perform best when they are calm cool and collected. Whatever your peak level of performance is Benson has a critical suggestion for all runners prior to race time. “Get your butterflies to fly in formation!”
