Born and raised in California,
Matt Favela grew up with an intrinsic love of soccer. His passion for the game
led him to play in college for nationally-ranked, West Valley College. Coach
Favela went on and achieved his degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in
exercise and movement science from San Francisco State University.
Christian Dean
College Prep Director
TASK is proud to introduce Christian Dean as our new lead coach for College Prep Training. Christian grew up in the south bay area playing for Santa Clara Sporting. He played at Cal Berkeley for 3 years before getting drafted by the Vancouver White Caps. He played for Chicago Fire for 2 seasons alongside Bastian Schweinsteiger. He represented the USA at the U21, U23, and senior national teams.

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT, & FACILITY

Equipment Needed: All campers must bring soccer cleats, shin guards, athletic shoes, and a water bottle.
Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital
NEW TRAINING STRUCTURE
As the players develop and evolve, our camps also need to advance with the ever-growing soccer community. Our new progressive structure now approaches each skill with a higher focus. Each day is centered on a specific skill: Monday - Dribbling, Tuesday - Passing, Wednesday - Shooting / Finishing, Thursday - Defending and Friday - World Cup Tournament. Players are cycled through four phases, in which they train a particular aspect of each day's theme.

TRANSPORTATION
Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

My daughter is a competitive soccer player and has attended many of Ben's camps. He is always well organized and designs them to challenge the player to meet their full potential as a soccer player and as a teammate. We like and trust him so much we continue to have small group trainings with him once a week outside the regular team trainings. I highly recommend attending camps run by Ben.
He enjoyed the camp’s structured schedule, especially enjoyed the afternoon scrimmages, and he finally learned how to juggle!

They came back with a greater physical skill set but also with a greater understanding of football and ability to articulate their thoughts about individual and collective skills. Simply put: awesome. Also, the mixed ages is an opportunity for all kids to learn from one another in a method proven to work in skill building - the kids learned to take care of one another. Ben is an awesome coach, he is more than a coach, he is a mentor. Being from Germany ourselves, we as parents, love that he brings the European flair into his coaching style. The highlights were the finale World Cup format and pageantry. As a parent, I appreciated the coaches walking the kids to the public bathroom and to the fields. The fields were set-up every morning upon our arrival with the equipment, tents and water. The daily Instagram photos and player evaluation were much appreciated. Overall, I would highly recommend Coach Matt and his team.

I have twin daughters who have attended Ben Maxwell's soccer camps since they were nine years old. They are 14 now, and the technical skills, in particular, they have picked up from Ben's trainings are still with them. They both play at the Premier level and would not be as technically developed had they not gotten that very unique training from Ben. Ben is knowledgeable about all aspects of soccer and is respectful to the kids he teaches - at any level, any age. He's a rare gem of a coach and my girls have had nothing but a positive experience every time they attend his camps.
Not only are Ben and his staff professional, but they pay attention to the details. My son is an elite player and has recently attended Player ONE Camps. He loved the training drills and the fact that he was constantly challenged by the staff and the rest of the elite players attending the camps. He was encouraged to express his creativity during each training and this has improved his decision making and playing style. My son is scoring 1-2 goals per game from inside and outside the 18-yard box! Thank you Player ONE, we’ll definitely be back!
This camp was amazing. The level of instruction and ability of Coach Ben and kids was eye-opening. I didn't know kids this age could do this level of technical drills, and still have fun! The scrimmage at the end brought it all together and let the kids work the skills in a game scenario. Really fun to watch. This is a top-level camp, attracting elite players.

My child meeting new friends and coming home using new soccer terminology and expressing interest in the World Cup tournament was the most fun tournament he's ever participated in.
