Tips on Field Hockey Protective Gear

Campers should be equipped with the appropriate Field Hockey gear they need for every summer camp they attend!
In any contact sport, injuries can be common. In Field Hockey, you can't shy away from contact but must have on the proper equipment to keep you safe! It is important to make sure you are equipped when you step foot on the field. Having the right protective gear and equipment is key when it comes to your safety. In order to play the game as safely as possible it is vital to have the correct gear. Check out the tips below on how to get ready for your next Nike Field Hockey Camp.
Tip #1 Shin guards Field hockey shin guards are different then most over shin guards. It's a key part of equipment in Field Hockey. The shin guards wrap farther around the lower leg and provide more ankle protection than your typical soccer shin guards. Some campers layer thin socks under their shin guards to make it as comfortable as possible.
Tip #2 Goggles Another key part of gear for a field hockey player is goggles. Though not always required, it is highly recommended to wear eye protection. Most are made from steel and some players choose to use plastic goggles for better peripheral vision.
Tip #3 Mouth guard Lastly and most important piece of equipment is a mouth guard. This is highly recommended to wear during field play. Mouth guards are a great way to protect your teeth and mouth area in case of contact during Field Hockey.
