Sarah Anciaux (HS Camp Director)
Sarah Anciaux is currently enrolled in the chemistry PhD program at the University of Minnesota and is the captain of the school's women's ultimate team, Ninjas, who made it to nationals is 2013. She also currently plays on the Twin Cities women's club team, Pop.
In addition to her ultimate background, Anciaux has years of athletic experience under her belt, ranging from an NCAA D-III sweet sixteen basketball appearance to being an All-American in track and field. Years of dedication to athletics and previous coaching experience helps her bring a knowledge of sports theory and camp organization to the table.
Anciaux has always been an advocate for youths to excel both on the field and off, and is excited to offer this new outlet for youth ultimate players in her community.
Emily Regan (MS Camp Director)
Emily Regan played for the University of Minnesota Ninjas from 2010-2013. She captained for two years, one of which the Ninjas made it to Nationals. Emily has played for Pop, and a few other club teams.
As an assistant coach at South High School the past few years, Emily has experience working with youth ultimate players. She also helped with the Minnesota Middle School Program this year and last.
As an upcoming public health student, one of Emily’s passions is to improve the wellbeing of youth through activity and healthy communication. She is stoked to get a chance to work with young athletes this summer!
From 2001-2006 Jake Henderson attended the University of Eau Claire-Wisconsin. He began playing ultimate his freshman year and became a 4 year captain helping build the ultimate program at UWEC.
After graduating with a BA in Secondary Education Jake moved to the Twin Cities to play ultimate. He has played for the top mixed team in the Cities area since 2006. He has been a member of Drag’n since its humble beginnings and helped build this team into a national championship contender.
Jake has built a very successful high school program at St. Paul Charter. With the help of his wife and several other coaches, and also good friends, this small collection of charter schools has 1/6 of its student population playing ultimate and competes with other state powerhouses for the title.
At the 2012 National Championships he tore his fourth ACL and retired from competitive ultimate. In Jake’s first year coaching the team 2013, Drag’n Thrust won the Mixed National Championship! It was Jake’s greatest ultimate moment, something he has been chasing since moving to the Cities in 2006.
Recently, Jake Henderson teamed with Mario O’Brien of RISE UP Ultimate to facilitate RISE UP MN Player and Team Clinics as well as Coach Workshops. He wants to continue to grow the MN Youth community by exposing coaches and players to new ideas and resources.
James Hron has been playing Ultimate for 8 years. He began playing Ultimate while attending UW-Eau Claire, and captained there for 3 years. James also plays Ultimate at the elite club level with Drag'n Thrust, and professionally in the AUDL with the Minnesota Wind Chill. Last year, James won the National Club Championship with Drag'n Thrust while collecting the Individual Spirit Award for his team. He also led the Minnesota Wind Chill last year in scoring, and was awarded a place on the Midwestern second All-AUDL team. He is looking forward to another strong year of Ultimate in Minnesota!
James currently teaches science and technology at a local middle school. He has two years of experience coaching through his school, four years of captain experience, and six years of playing experience in Elite Ultimate. He is very excited for the opportunity to work with the up-coming Ultimate athletes this summer!
