The NBC Difference
Unlike other camp programs where skills training falls under the expertise of the camp director, NBC Camps has built a program of training to help each camper walk out of camp a better player and person. Our site directors work as event managers helping to run a great week of camp and facilitating the implementation of our specific camp expectations. Our basketball instruction is based on skill curriculum and talent development we believe are essential to take your game to the next level. Though coaching styles and drills may change, our master teachers receive DVDs, lesson plans, and detailed training on how to maximize this week of camp. Coaching at camp is much different than coaching a team. With over 40 years experience, our goal is to give you the best basketball and life skills instruction possible.

Camp Questions & Answers
What is the difference between NBC Grace Christian basketball Camp in Anchorage and the NBC Basketball Camp at Alaska Pacific University?
The NBC basketball camp at Grace Christian is a junior camp focused on helping younger students improve their skills. Campers come only during the day. The NBC Basketball Camps at APU are designed to be overnight camps and campers play between 6-10 hours per day. NBC does have an extended day option at this location but it does follow the same pattern as the overnight only campers do not sleep over in the dorms and do not eat breakfast. Camp begins around 7:30am and goes until 9:30 at night. The intensity and expectation for the APU camp is significantly higher than the day camp. The day camp is designed for younger or more beginning players who want to learn basketball accurately.
Do I need to bring a basketball to this NBC Grace Christian camp?
Yes, every student must have her or his own basketball. We believe that working with the basketball you will be practicing with is important. Developing a habit of working on your basketball skills daily is a goal we have for campers. Everyone is given drills and workouts to do at home and having your own basketball is important for the continuity of this practice.

I appreciated that the counselors knew the kids' names. I also appreciated that they played basketball with them in the mornings when they were warming up. It was nice to see them interact with them in such a supporting and encouraging way.

NBC Camp was the perfect way for my daughter to start the summer. The counselors were awesome role models and really interacted and motivated the kids! Thanks again-we will be back next year!

My 9-year-old daughter came back from the camp with a lot more confidence in her ability. She learned different ways to shoot the ball and mental focus. I can't wait to see the improvement she has made this coming basketball season. See you next year!
Coming Next Year
My children had a terrific time and are looking forward to returning next year.
The camp helped build the confidence for the kids to play and feel like they know what they are doing
My grandson loved the program. It is highly recommended.
Made it fun
I liked that it was not too competitive and rigid for the 7-11 year olds. Made it fun so kids want to continue to play ball. Need to make sure coaches and kids don't dribble balls when a coach is talking. With 80 kids, most kids can't hear. Need to speak loudly and make sure it's quiet.
