at Nike Basketball Camps

Work on your game in summer 2024 with Head Men's Basketball Coach Dennis Nutt and the Ouachita Baptist Men's Basketball staff at this new basketball camp in Arkadelphia, AR. Focus on the fundamentals and fine-tuning your positional work at our Complete Skills Camps this summer.

The Complete Skills Camp helps players of all abilities develop athletically, refine fundamental basketball skills and enhance their skill set at the post, wing or guard position.

    Dennis Nutt

    Camp Director

    Dennis Nutt, a former NBA player with the Dallas Mavericks from 1986-88, is entering his 12th season as head coach of the Tigers in 2022-23. He has led the Tigers to two Great American Conference tournament championships in 2013 and 2016, and a GAC regular season title in 2015. His 2016 squad qualified for the NCAA Division II National Tournament, the first appearance for the program since 2008.

    At Ouachita, Nutt has coached thirteen All-GAC selections and nine GAC All-Tournament Selections, including 2013 GAC Tournament MVP Colt Fason and 2016 Tournament MVP Tirrell Brown. He was named GAC Coach of the Year following the 2014-2015 season with Tirrell Brown being named GAC Player of the Year. Has coached two winners of GAC Newcomer of the Year in Tirrell Brown and Lakee Westbrook and 2016 GAC Defensive Player of the year in David Berete.

    Nutt served as men’s basketball head coach at Texas State University from 2000 to 2006. He also has been an assistant coach at Coastal Carolina University, Arkansas State University and Westark Community College, as well as a graduate assistant basketball coach at Texas A&M University. Prior to taking the head job at Ouachita, he was a consultant and fundraiser for Coker College and an NBA scout for the Charlotte Bobcats.

    Among his many accolades, Nutt is a member of the TCU Hall of Fame, was selected to the All-Time Southwest Conference Team and was on the 1985 All Southwest Conference First Team. He also was named the team MVP in 1984 and 1985, was a 1981 Arkansas High School All-Star participant and was a 5A All-State selection in 1980-81 in both basketball and football.

    Nutt, a native of Little Rock, Ark., is the youngest of four brothers with successful coaching careers. Houston and Danny Nutt are former Arkansas Razorback football coaches, most notable with the Arkansas Razorbacks, and Dickey Nutt is on the men’s basketball staff at the University of Missouri.

    A 1986 graduate of TCU, Nutt and his wife, Vicki, are the parents of twin daughters, Macy and Myca.

Closing Ceremony: Thursday at 2:30pm
Meals: Lunch is not provided. Please bring a packed lunch.
Daily Hours: MON-THURS 9am-3pm

BASKETBALLS

Nike Versa Tack Basketballs can be purchased during registration for $30. Players can choose between a size 6 (28.5", standard girls) or size 7 (29.5", standard boys) ball, which will be passed out on the last day of camp. Please note that it is not required to bring a basketball to camp as they are provided by the staff for camp instruction.

If there are any imperative changes prior to camp start, registered campers will be notified via email and this webpage will be updated!

Below is a suggested list of clothes, equipment, and personal items. US Sports Camps is NOT responsible for lost or stolen articles or money.

CAMPER EVALUATION

Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week. In addition, campers will be evaluated and then split up into smaller groups according to age and ability.

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided by the camp to or from any airports. If you are flying to or from camp, we recommend using an airport shuttle service. Please schedule flights as close as you can to the check-in times on the first day and check-out times on the last day.
