    Sam Lewis

    Co-Director

Known for her outside shot, she holds the Fairfield University single game scoring record with 39 points and Fairfield University/MAAC single game three point record with 11 made threes. During the 2020-2021 season she led the MAAC and was ranked 5th in the country in 3PFG% at 46.1%. In her final season she earned MAAC Sixth Player of the Year honors and her team went on to win the MAAC Championship where she netted clutch free throws at the end to seal the game.

After her collegiate career, Lewis moved back home to coach her alma mater, Howard High School. She helped lead the Lions to their first ever Maryland 3A State Championship. She then moved to the DC area where she started her player development program - Beyond The Arc. She runs day camps, clinics, and trains girls all ages from 4th-12th grade.

“Beyond The Arc was created to be more than just a basketball training business – we're a catalyst for personal growth and athletic excellence. We understand that true success on the court goes beyond physical skills; it's about building confidence, fostering resilience, and growing leadership qualities. Our tailored training programs are designed not only to enhance basketball fundamentals, skills, and IQ but also to empower athletes to thrive both on and off the court.”

Lewis is also in her second season at Georgetown Visitation as the assistant varsity basketball coach.

  • Awvee Storey

    Awvee Storey

    Camp Director

Awvee Storey is a former professional basketball player turned player development coach. Storey played in the NBA and abroad for 11 years. He recently finished his second WNBA finals appearance in the 2022 season with Connecticut Sun as the Director of Player Development. He was also an assistant coach in the NBA G-league for the Capital City Go-Go inaugural year and Maine Celtics 2021 season.

    Awvee Storey

    Camp Director

Prior to his time in the front office and side-line, Storey attended Arizona State University as a student athlete. After graduating, he began playing basketball abroad and then progressed to the NBA for four seasons (Wizards, Nets, and Bucks). Since that time, Storey has taken an unusual career path for a former NBA player. As the Director of Player Development for the Sun, his experience as a former player helped him understand what players needed off the court. He has taken a holistic approach to coaching with consideration for players' overall well-being. At the professional level, he brought in yoga and other mindfulness experiences to players. In addition to his experience with professional basketball, Storey is entering his 10th year as a director for Nike Basketball youth camps.

"Working with kids has been a long-time passion of mine. During my time as a coach, I have worked with players at all ages and skill levels. My perspective as a former player will allow me to engage with your child in a very relatable way. I hope to bring the holistic approach I utilized in professional basketball to my Nike camps. I will incorporate different yoga poses during our morning and end of session every day from a licensed trainer. Throughout camp week, this will allow your child to work on being as present as possible in all things. I want your child to not only have a great experience learning new basketball skills on the court, and meeting new friends, but also to work on the entire player, and that includes his or her overall well-being."
