Train with Long Beach State Women's Basketball Head Coach Amy Wright and coaching staff in the iconic Walter Pyramid in summer 2025. This camp is formatted to help fine-tune your shooting, footwork, and ball-handling skills to ultimately improve your mental toughness and confidence.

The Complete Skills Camps help players of all abilities develop athletically, refine fundamental skills, and enhance their abilities at the post, wing, or guard position.

    Head Coach

    Long Beach State Interim Executive Director of Athletics Ted Kadowaki has announced the hiring of Amy Wright as the new head women’s basketball coach at the Beach.

    Wright brings more than 20 years of experience to Long Beach State after spending the last two years at Oklahoma as the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator. While in Norman, Wright helped lead the Sooners to their first Big 12 Championship since 2009 as they made their second-straight NCAA Tournament appearance in 2022-23. With Wright primarily coaching the guards, the Sooners posted a program record for assist/turnover ratio (1.23), and ranked in the top five in the nation in scoring (2nd – 84.4 ppg) as well as assists per game (3rd – 20.8). She was also instrumental in developing Madi Williams, a 2023 WNBA draft pick, Taylor Robinson, the NCAA all-time three-point record holder (503), and Ana Llanusa, an All-Big 12 honoree.

    Prior to her time at Oklahoma, Wright spent nine years at Texas A&M. With the Aggies, she helped guide the squad to eight NCAA Tournament appearances, as they reached the Sweet 16 four times, while reaching the Elite Eight in 2014. Furthermore, she helped the Aggies to three second-place finishes in the SEC. As recruiting coordinator at A&M, the Aggies boasted the No. 8 ranked recruiting class in the nation per ESPNW in 2017.

    Throughout her career, she has coached nearly 19 first team all-conference selections and has made the postseason at every school where she’s coached.

    A highly-touted recruiting coordinator, Wright helped sign one of Arizona State’s highest-ranked recruiting classes in just one season. Specializing in out-of-bounds plays, on-court work with guards, and opponent scouting reports, Wright was instrumental in the Sun Devil’s 20-win season and their WNIT berth in 2011-12.

    Wright coached at Cleveland State, where she helped lead the Vikings to 59 wins over three seasons, a conference championship, and a pair of postseason appearances. She also coached at Western Kentucky where she collected 49 victories in two seasons, and spent four years at USF where the Bulls recorded three 19-plus win seasons.

    As a player, Wright was a four-year starter under Gary Blair at Arkansas from 1999-2002. She is the only point guard in program history to lead the Razorbacks to four-straight postseason appearances, including the 1999 WNIT Championship. As Arkansas’ all-time leader in assists (717), Wright set the school record for assists in a single season with 205 in her senior season. An SEC Academic Honor Roll selection as a sophomore, Wright never missed a game, playing in a school-record 131 consecutive contests.

    Following her collegiate career, Wright participated in the WNBA Pre-Draft Camp and was drafted by the Detroit Shock in 2002.

    A native of Williamsburg, Ind., Wright earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing and management from Arkansas, before completing her master’s degree in sports and administration from Ohio University.

    Brian Rosario was hired in May 2023 as a Long Beach State Women’s Basketball assistant coach. He brings more than 20 years of coaching experience to the Beach.

    Rosario comes to Long Beach State after spending four years as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Pepperdine. During the summer of 2022, he served as the head coach of the Philippines U16 National Team as they competed at the Asia Cup Championship. In the summer of 2020, Rosario was named to the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Social Justice Task Force, which functions under the auspices of the association’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee and is focused on promoting racial equality in three areas: hiring practices, training and education, and advocacy and awareness.

    Prior to his time at Pepperdine, Rosario gained experience as the head coach of Chandler-Gilbert Community College in Chandler, Ariz., where he rebuilt the program earning the program’s first playoff berth in five years, and their first national ranking in nine years.

    Rosario also coached at the club and high school levels in Indiana from 2014-16.

    He also spent time working as an assistant coach at Loyola Marymount where he was in charge of post player development, scheduling, game and practice planning, and all aspects of recruiting. Rosario coached and mentored All-WCC players Alex Cowling, Renahy Young, Candice Nichols, and Hazel Ramirez. Under his tutelage, Cowling became the Lions all-time leading scorer in LMU history.

    Rosario also gained experience as an assistant coach at Cornell University where he was the position coach of Jeomi Maduka, who went on to be named Cornell’s second-ever Ivy League Rookie of the Year, and to the All-Ivy Rookie Team.

    Additionally, Rosario served as an assistant coach at McNeese State, and the University of the Cumberlands.

    A graduate of the University of San Diego, Rosario earned his Bachelor’s Degree in business administration before getting his Master’s Degree in special education from the University of the Cumberlands.

    Rosario and his wife, Michelle, have three children, Luciano, Florencio, and Catalina.

    Jashae Lee

    Assistant coach

    Jashae Lee is in her first season as a Long Beach State Women’s Basketball assistant coach after being hired in May 2023.

    Lee comes to Long Beach State after working as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Trinity Valley Community College where she helped guide the Lady Cardinals to the 2023 NJCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship finals. Trinity Valley finished the year with an impressive 34-3 overall record.

    Prior to her year at Trinity Valley, Lee spent two years at New Mexico Junior College as an assistant coach. With Lee’s help, the Thunderbirds won the 2022 Region V JCAC Conference Championship after posting a 25-6 overall record and going a perfect 13-0 at home. Her efforts were rewarded as she was selected as a 2022 WBCA 30 Under Thirty honoree. In 2022, she also served as the head coach for the JUCO Top 40 All-Star Game.

    Lee previous gained experience working with the University of Arkansas-Monticello where she served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. At Arkansas-Monticello, she helped the Blossoms to a 20-win season and an appearance in the GAC Championship game. Under Lee’s tutelage, the team was ranked nationally for the first time since joining the NCAA.

    She also coached at Paris Junior College and Murray State. A skilled recruiting coordinator, Lee has been a key component in developing both guard and post players at each program in which she has worked. Lee has also assisted in overseeing team academics, coordination of strength and conditioning, scouting opponents, on-court coaching, and game preparation.

    As a student-athlete, Lee played one season at NMJC before transferring to Murray State where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in psychology and a Master’s Degree in human development and leadership.

    Archer brings 15 years of coaching experience to Long Beach State as he comes to the Beach after spending four years at Sam Houston State as an assistant coach. At SHSU, Archer coached 2022 All-WAC First Team selection Faith Cook and 2023 All-WAC Second Team selection and 2022 All-WAC Defensive Team selection Maddie Batista. Under his tutelage, the Bearkats won a program-record nine-straight games and finished the 2019-20 season with the most wins in school history (14). He also mentored 2021 Southland Player of the Year Amber Leggett before the Kats’ move to the WAC.

    Prior to his time at Sam Houston State, Archer worked for Texas Grassroots Basketball. He went on to serve as the men’s basketball assistant coach at Ranger College where he helped the squad to a NJCAA Region V Runner-up finish.

    Archer also gained experience coaching on the men’s side at Norfolk State where he worked primarily with the guards. At NSU, he coached Pendarvis Williams and Malcolm Hawkins to All-MEAC Second Team accolades.

    As the head men’s basketball coach at Lackawanna College, Archer’s squad won the 2012 NJCAA Region XIX Championship. While at Lackawanna, Archer led his team to three-straight regular season titles and was named 2012 NJCAA Region XIX Coach of the Year.

    A native of Trinity, Texas, Archer was an All-State selection at Trinity High School before graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in human performance from Texas Southern in 2004 and 2007 respectively.

Junior Beach Camp by LBSU Women’s Basketball

This day camp is tailored for young players looking to refine their basketball skills in a fun and educational setting. Participants will engage in age-appropriate drills and games aimed at improving ball-handling, passing, shooting, rebounding, defense, as well as learning key concepts like spacing and off-ball movement. It's a fantastic opportunity for kids to enhance their basketball abilities under the guidance of experienced coaches and current LBSU players.

The Elite Camp with LBSU Women's Basketball

This your chance to be coached by the Long Beach State Women's Basketball coaches and players—learning skills, building confidence, and having fun on the court. You'll even have the opportunity to compete against our team on the court. The Elite Camp will also feature a facility tour at LBSU.

EARLY DROP OFF/LATE PICK UP

Early drop off and late pick up can be purchased at registration for the Junior Beach Camp only. Before care will run from 8:30am-9am, Monday-Thursday, and will cost $40 for the week. After care will run from 3pm-3:30pm, Monday-Thursday, and will also cost $40 for the week.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?

  • Instruction: Morning and afternoon training sessions
  • Supervision: Campers are supervised by staff during camp hours
  • Lunch: Lunch is not provided, please bring a sack lunch each day
  • Camp T-shirt & Prizes: Campers at multi-day camps will receive a Nike Basketball Camps t-shirt. Team Camp Excluded.
  • Basketballs: Basketballs are provided for instruction during camp

TEAM DISCOUNT

If you have a group of 5 or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper is eligible for a $25 discount. If you have a group of 10 or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper is eligible for a $40 discount. Please fill out the Team Discount - Basketball form with the name of your group and the names of each camper enrolling in the camp and we will create a unique discount code for your group.

INSTRUCTION & FACILITY

  • Ratio: 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio
  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by ability, age, and experience, per the Director's discretion
  • Facility: Indoor courts
  • Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

CAMPER EVALUATION

Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week. In addition, campers will be evaluated and then split up into smaller groups according to age and ability.

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

COMPANY POLICIES

If you need to cancel for any reason up until 24 hours prior to camp check-in, you will receive a camp credit voucher for tuition fees paid that is good through the following year for any sport and is transferable to any immediate family member. Participants who DO NOT attend their registered session (no-shows for any reason) or who do not contact USSC to cancel at least 24 hours prior to camp check-in will not receive a voucher or refund. Cash refunds are given only if Cancellation Protection was purchased at the time of registration and the cancellation is made before your balance due date.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided by the camp to or from any airports. If you are flying to or from camp, we recommend using an airport shuttle service. Please schedule flights as close as you can to the check-in times on the first day and check-out times on the last day.
