at Nike Basketball Camps

Head to Tucson, Arizona, and improve your skills with coaches Markel Leonard and CJ Appleton in summer 2026. This camp hosted at Mountain View High School (previously held at Sahuaro High School) is the perfect place to polish up on your game, learn new techniques, and become a leader. Find A Way Athletics, founded by Markel Leonard, is an educational and athletics organization whose mission is to invest in young people in an environment that allows for fun and growth as individuals and athletes. Find A Way Athletics promotes the mindset of always finding a way to succeed in sports and life. Through education, guidance, and empowerment, Find A Way Athletics aims to provide H.O.P.E (Helping Others Pursue Excellence) and add value to the lives of our players, parents, and communities on and off the basketball court.

The Complete Skills Camp helps players of all abilities develop athletically, refine fundamental basketball skills and enhance their skill set at the post, wing or guard position.

    Markel Leonard

    Co-Director

    Markel Leonard is a former Division I athlete at Cal Poly SLO and Division III collegiate athlete at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. He currently is a scout for the Los Angeles Sparks.

    Markel was a four-year varsity Basketball Player at Salesian High School, where he helped the Pride win 4 League titles, 3 North Coast Section Titles, 2 Northern California Championships, and 1 California State Championship. In 2012, Leonard was a key piece in Salesian’s national ranking as they were the #10 team in the country during their State Championship winning season in 2012.

    At Cal Poly SLO, Markel was a part of the university’s first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance in school history after winning the Big West Conference Championship in 2014. Leonard then went on to Play DIII Basketball at Lewis & Clark College. He forged the opportunity to Play professional Basketball to obtain his Master’s Degree in Sports Law & Business from Arizona State in 2019.

    Since then, Leonard has worked for the NCAA in the Men’s Basketball Department planning the NCAA March Madness Basketball Tournament, The Los Angeles Rams Football Club, Pac-12 Conference, and is currently a scout for the Los Angeles Sparks.

    CJ Appleton

    Co-Director

    CJ Appleton is a former collegiate athlete at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon where he was an all-conference player in both football and basketball while being an honor roll student from 2014-2017.

    After his playing career, Appleton continued coaching both sports at his alma mater before moving to the Northern Virginia area to pursue his PhD in 2019. For the past 4 years, Appleton has been working with youth in the DMV area doing both individual skills training and coaching AAU. Appleton takes a player first approach that promotes effort and accountability within a fun and engaging environment. His coaching style aims to teach invaluable life lessons through the game of basketball.

    Coach Clay Wilson is the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Mountain View High School, entering his 14th season in high school basketball. Coach Wilson brings more than a decade of high-level playing and coaching experience.

    A native of Gadsden/Birmingham, Alabama, Coach Wilson was a standout multi-sport athlete, lettering four years in both Varsity basketball and football, and contributing to a 2004 State Championship at Coosa Christian/Emma Sansom High School. His playing career continued at the collegiate level, where he earned a basketball scholarship to Tennessee Temple University (NAIA) and competed for two seasons before transitioning into coaching. Coach Wilson’s blend of varsity coaching experience, player development expertise, and competitive playing background shapes an energetic, fundamentals-driven camp environment focused on skill, growth, and confidence.

Camp Details

JUNE 1-4, 2026

  • Check in: Monday at 8:30am
  • Closing Ceremony: Thursday at 2:30pm
  • Meals: Lunch is not provided. Please bring a packed lunch
  • Daily Hours: MON-THURS 9AM-3PM

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?

  • Instruction: Morning and afternoon training sessions
  • Supervision: Campers are supervised by staff during camp hours
  • Lunch: Lunch is not provided, please bring a sack lunch each day
  • Camp T-shirt: Campers at multi-day camps will receive a Nike Basketball Camps t-shirt. *1-day clinics and fall, winter, and spring clinics excluded
  • Basketballs: Basketballs are provided for instruction during camp

INSTRUCTION & FACILITY

  • Ratio: 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio
  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by ability, age, and experience, per the Director's discretion
  • Facility: Indoor courts
  • Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

BASKETBALLS

Nike All Court Elite Basketballs can be purchased during registration for $35. Players can choose between a size 6 (28.5", standard girls) or size 7 (29.5", standard boys) ball, which will be passed out on the last day of camp. Please note that it is not recommended to bring a basketball to camp as they are provided by the staff for camp instruction.

PRE-CAMP CHECKLIST

To view your customer account, complete your mandatory forms, pay balance dues, and review important camp information, visit Pre-Camp Checklist. All necessary camp information is on this page. If there are any imperative changes prior to camp start, registered campers will be notified via email and this webpage will be updated!

PACKING LIST

Below is a suggested list of clothes, equipment, and personal items. US Sports Camps is NOT responsible for lost or stolen articles or money.

CAMPER EVALUATION

Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week. In addition, campers will be evaluated and then split up into smaller groups according to age and ability.

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

COMPANY POLICIES

If you need to cancel for any reason up until 24 hours prior to camp check-in, you will receive a camp credit voucher for tuition fees paid that is good through the following year for any sport and is transferable to any immediate family member. Participants who DO NOT attend their registered session (no-shows for any reason) or who do not contact USSC to cancel at least 24 hours prior to camp check-in will not receive a voucher or refund. Cash refunds are given only if Cancellation Protection was purchased at the time of registration and the cancellation is made before your balance due date.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided by the camp to or from any airports. If you are flying to or from camp, we recommend using an airport shuttle service. Please schedule flights as close as you can to the check-in times on the first day and check-out times on the last day.
