  • Everyone was super nice and encouraging!

The positive environment! Everyone was super nice and encouraging! We (parents and campers) were greeted by friendly staff. My son gained much more than advancing his skills. The atmosphere of camp helped boost his confidence all around. He seemed to have bonded with his coach and other staff members.

Will had the most amazing time at camp! This is his second year staying the four days on campus and he said the coaches were awesome. We feel very fortunate that he could attend and he is already looking forward to next year!
  • This camp is the best one I've been to

Compared to other camps I’ve been to, this one was the best so far. And I liked the camp this year even better than last year.
  • My son always comes away a better player.

My son's first overnight camp experience was last year with this same camp and he loved it. As a parent, I was grateful that he felt so safe and supported to be away for so long the first time. This year, we also added on the shooting camp and again he loved all of it. The staff are friendly AND good at what they do. My son always comes away a better player, and loving the game even more than before. He definitely wants to come back next year, and I'll be sending him!
  • he came back more mature

First time ever for Troy away from home for that long. As a parent, he came back more mature & gained confidence not only in the sport but as a whole. Troy said the whole experience was a highlight, meeting new friends & building skills that will take him through life.
  • he begged us to add the extended day option!

The coaches were a highlight of Brooklyn's camp experience. He liked them, respected them, and was given so much time and attention from each coach in his division. He also raved about the food. Originally, he was only signed up for a regular day, 9 am-4 pm. After the first day, he begged us to add the extended day option so he could stay until 9 pm. He wanted every moment he could get at this camp. He rated it 10/10!
  • Get buckets!!

As a fourteen year old, still improving my skills, this Nike Camp helped encourage me to work harder at my game and have pride in my team. Thank you so much for your sacrifices to make sure I can be the best player I can become. Get buckets!!
  • Thank you to all of the coaches

This was my son’s second time with the shooting camp. He loved staying overnight and had lots of fun but learned a lot. When I picked him up he said: “Mom, I want to do the whole week next time”. I’m gonna say that this camp was a success. Thank you to all of the coaches who gave their time to teach.

  • invaluable experience

As parents, we believe you can only improve when you surround yourself with better players than yourself. Gavin has been a big fish in a little pond during middle school. Camp Coaches

  • Mark Darnall Headshot 2

    Mark Darnall

    Director

Jessup University formally welcomed Mark Darnall as the next head coach for the men’s basketball program in April of 2023. Darnall comes to Rocklin after an extensive career as an assistant coach at the NCAA Division I & II ranks.

    Mark Darnall Headshot 2

    Mark Darnall

    Director

Darnall comes to the Warriors after two seasons with NCAA Division I Eastern Washington University. Eastern Washington won the Big Sky regular season championship in 2023 with a record of 16-2. Darnall and the Eagles started the season on fire, winning 16 straight Big Sky games, the best start in conference history.

EWU earned a bid to the NIT in 2023, where they took down Washington State before falling to Oklahoma State on the road.

In two seasons with EWU, Darnall helped lead the Eagles to an overall record of 41-27, including a 27-11 run in Big Sky competition. Darnall oversaw the defense during that time, a unit that led the Big Sky in defensive field goal percentage in both seasons with EWU. Darnall also worked heavily on the player development side, guiding Steele Venters to 2022-23 Big Sky MVP honors.

Before joining the staff at EWU, Darnall served as an assistant coach for NCAA Division II program Chico State. During his time in Chico, the Wildcats went 52-29, reaching the national tournament once. Chico State earned a four-seed in the 2020 NCAA Division II Tournament, but the Wildcats' bid for a national title ended early due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The pandemic also caused the 2020-21 season to be canceled, a year where Darnall was tabbed to be the lead assistant for head coach Greg Clink. The summer of 2020 saw Darnall add to his resume as Silver Waves Media named him one of the 50 most impactful Division II coaches in America.

Chico State was not Darnall's only Northern California stop. He also spent time on the bench at UC Davis, following coach Jim Les who he had assisted in the 2010 season as a video coordinator for Bradley University. The time Darnall spent with the Aggies saw the team win the Big West championship in 2015, leading to an appearance in the NIT. Darnall served as the Director of Basketball operations with the Aggies, assisting in all aspects of the program.

Darnall's coaching journey began in 2009 as an assistant coach for Peoria Christian HS, but coaching is in his blood as his uncle, Dave Darnall, is a member of the NAIA Hall of Fame for his team-leading Eureka College.

  • Travis Timmons

    Travis Timmons

    Assistant Coach

Jessup Men’s Basketball added Travis Timmons to the coaching staff ahead of the 2021-22 season. Timmons joins a staff that had produced six consecutive seasons in the NAIA Top-25 prior to his arrival.

    Travis Timmons

    Travis Timmons

    Assistant Coach

Timmons comes to Jessup after previously spending two seasons with the University of Saint Katherine. Before the stint with USK, Timmons spent time coaching at Arizona Western College and Eastern Arizona University. Timmons also played college basketball for two seasons for coach Sam Ballard at NJCAA Mesa Community College. He then played two more years for NCAA Division II Southeastern Oklahoma State University under coach Kelly Green.

The Warriors won a record 30 games in Timmons’ first season on the bench. Jessup reached the GSAC Championship Game and secured a bid to the NAIA National Tournament, where they made the deepest run in program history, reaching the quarterfinals.

Timmons is a hands-on coach and can routinely be found working with players one-on-one in the gym.

A graduate of Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Timmons earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in 2014, and his Master’s of Business Administration in 2017.

Timmons, a Tucson, Arizona native, currently resides in Lincoln and is a big fan of the University of Arizona athletics. He enjoys outdoor activities, snowboarding, and watching sports in his off time.
