at Nike Basketball Camps

Head to Ranger College Basketball Camp in summer 2025 and receive instruction from the Women's Basketball staff. You will get the opportunity to work on skill developmental drills, shooting technique, footwork, and fun activities in a focused environment.

The Complete Skills Camp helps players of all abilities develop athletically, refine fundamental basketball skills and enhance their skill set at the post, wing or guard position.

Campers will learn the details of the game of basketball through drill work, controlled scrimmages and film will be taught over this camp.

    Mark Morefield

    Camp Director

    Mark Morefield became the ninth head coach in UMHB women's basketball history in April of 2015. He joined the Cru after a long and successful stint as a Division I men's basketball assistant coach. Morefield guided the Cru women to the 2022 regular-season American Southwest Conference title and the program’s third appearance in the NCAA Division III Sectionals. The Cru went 24-5 last season with an 18-1 mark in conference play. Morefield had guided the Cru to seven consecutive ASC tournament berths and a trio of NCAA postseason appearances. UMHB made history during the 2018-19 season with the ASC West Division title and first appearance in NCAA postseason action. The Cru went on to win back-to-back ASC titles in 2020 and 2021, advancing to the Sectional round of the NCAA Division III tournament in both of those seasons.

    Camp Director

    Morefield is 146-46 in seven seasons in Belton and the Cru women also earned top two seeds in the ASC Tournament in six consecutive seasons for the first time in program history under his direction. UMHB is also 6-2 all-time in NCAA postseason play with Morefield as head coach.

    Morefield spent eight seasons as an assistant coach on Scott Drew’s staff at Baylor University. The Bears advanced to two NCAA Tournaments during his tenure, including an appearance in the Elite Eight in 2010. Morefield also coached three future NBA players at Baylor, with two of those going in the first round of the NBA draft. He was twice named one of Rivals.com’s Top 25 recruiters and helped recruit six Top 20 national recruiting classes over a ten-year span. With the Bears, Morefield served as the team’s recruiting coordinator, oversaw the offense, supervised individual workouts and scouting. Morefield moved to Baylor after spending five years as an assistant coach at Valparaiso University under Homer and Scott Drew. The Crusaders posted four 20-win seasons in that time and made three NCAA Tournaments appearances. He spent four years as a student assistant at Valparaiso as the Crusaders recorded at least 20 wins in each of those seasons, made three NCAA Tournament appearances and advanced to the Sweet 16 in 2008. Morefield has one year of professional experience as an assistant coach with the Texas Legends of the NBDL and was also a draft consultant for the NBA’s New Orleans Hornets in 2012. He has coached a pair of professional teams in international competition in the off-season and has also coached two Athletes in Action teams on international tours.

    Morefield spent the 2014-15 season as the boys’ basketball coach at Vanguard College Preparatory School in Waco. He led the Vikings to a 26-5 record and the TAPPS Sweet 16. He also served as girls’ basketball coach at Texas Christian Academy in Waco for one year and also works with a developmental basketball program in Waco. Morefield is a 1998 graduate of Valparaiso University. He is married to Danika, the daughter of former Baylor Women’s Basketball Associate Head Coach Bill Brock. The couple has two sons, Harrison and Ryan.

    Tyler Doyle

    Assistant Coach

    Prior to Ranger, served as an assistant Coach and Director of Player Development at Houston Christian University where they were Denver Classic Champions and landed 2 Players on the All Tournament Team including the MVP of the Tournament. Was key in developing 2 All Conference Players in the Southland Conference, 2 All Academic Student Athletes in the Southland Conference, and 1 Player on the All Freshman Team in the Southland. Also was key in developing 1 current Pro currently playing overseas.

    Assistant Coach

    Prior to HCU, At the conclusion of the 2021-2022 season, Tyler Doyle finished with a Head Coaching record of 8-0. He was pivotal in the development of NAIA All American, AJ Rainey, and the Red River Conference Freshman of the Year, Christian Coleman. Also in developing 4 All Conference players. He was key in developing a defense that helped the Generals hold their opponents to 2 points less per game than the previous year. He was also key in developing an offense that helped the Generals increase their points per game by 4 from the previous year. Prior to his first season as the Associate Head Coach for the Generals, he spent the previous year as an assistant coach at Panola Junior College.

    While at Panola, he worked closely in developing three All-Conference players in Region 14 and one NJCAA All-American. He was key in contributing to a team that won 14 games in a 20-game COVID season while finishing fourth in Region 14. The program sent 4 players from the team to Division I schools and one player to a Division II school. Prior to Panola, Doyle spent two seasons as a graduate assistant coach and director of player development and two before that as a student manager at Louisiana Tech. During his two years as a graduate assistant, Doyle assisted in all day-to-day operations of the program, including travel arrangements, recruiting efforts and summer basketball camps.

    The Bulldogs combined for 42 wins during his two years as a graduate assistant and three 20+ win seasons overall. During his final season, Louisiana Tech finished tied for second in Conference USA and led Conference USA in total wins. He worked closely in helping several players earn All-Conference USA honors, including All-Conference First Team honors and All-Conference Defensive Team honors. Also worked closely in helping to develop a multiple of players that ended up in the NBA, G League, and multiple leagues all over the world. Doyle, a Pitkin, LA., native, earned a Bachelor’s in Sports Marketing and a Master’s in Business Administration from Louisiana Tech.

June 24-26, 2025

  • All Campers Check-in: Tuesday at 1pm at Ron Butler Gymnasium
  • All Campers Closing Ceremony: Thursday at 3:30pm. Check out following immediately after at 4pm.

OVERNIGHT CAMPERS

Campers will reside in the Ranger College dorms on campus and stay 2 campers per room. Roommate assignments are finalized the day prior to the first day of camp. Campers are assigned by age and roommate requests. If you have a roommate request, and have not already given it to us, please do so as soon as possible. Roommate requests are not guaranteed, if you don't have a roommate request, you will be placed in a room with someone near your age. It will be a great opportunity to meet someone new! You will be contacted in advance should we have any questions regarding roommate requests.

EXTENDED DAY CAMPERS

On the first day of camp, all extended day campers should arrive dressed and ready to play. Drop off and pick up locations will be given out at registration.

Tuesday:
♦ Extended Day Campers stay until 8:30pm.
♦ Dinner is provided.

Wednesday:
♦ Extended Day Camper Hours are 9am-8:30pm.
♦ Lunch and dinner provided.

Thursday:
♦ Extended Day Camper Hours are 9am-4pm.
♦ Lunch is provided.
♦ Campers will depart immediately following the closing ceremony.

Daily Schedule: TUES 2pm-8:30pm, WED 9am-8:30pm, THURS 9am-4pm

TEAM DISCOUNT

If you have a group of 5 or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper is eligible for a $25 discount. If you have a group of 10 or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper is eligible for a $40 discount. Please fill out the Team Discount - Basketball form with the name of your group and the names of each camper enrolling in the camp and we will create a unique discount code for your group.

INSTRUCTION & FACILITY

  • Ratio: 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio
  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by ability, age, and experience, per the Director's discretion
  • Facility: Indoor courts
  • Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

BASKETBALLS

Nike All Court Elite Basketballs can be purchased during registration for $35. Players can choose between a size 6 (28.5", standard girls) or size 7 (29.5", standard boys) ball, which will be passed out on the last day of camp. Please note that it is not required to bring a basketball to camp as they are provided by the staff for camp instruction.

CAMPER EVALUATION

Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week. In addition, campers will be evaluated and then split up into smaller groups according to age and ability.

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

COMPANY POLICIES

If you need to cancel for any reason up until 24 hours prior to camp check-in, you will receive a camp credit voucher for tuition fees paid that is good through the following year for any sport and is transferable to any immediate family member. Participants who DO NOT attend their registered session (no-shows for any reason) or who do not contact USSC to cancel at least 24 hours prior to camp check-in will not receive a voucher or refund. Cash refunds are given only if Cancellation Protection was purchased at the time of registration and the cancellation is made before your balance due date.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided by the camp to or from any airports. If you are flying to or from camp, we recommend using an airport shuttle service. Please schedule flights as close as you can to the check-in times on the first day and check-out times on the last day.
