Adam Reeb

Adam Reeb

Adam Reeb starts his first season as head coach of the Colby College men's and women's tennis programs for the 2018-19 academic year. He was the camp director of the Nike Tennis Camp at Seattle University for the past 3 summers.

Reeb was the head coach for both teams at NCAA Division I Seattle University, NCAA Division II McKendree University, and NAIA Lindenwood University.

"Adam is a talented coach who has shown an ability to identify talent and build highly competitive programs," said Jake Olkkola, the Harold Alfond Director of Athletics at Colby. "I believe the future of Colby tennis is very bright under Adam's leadership. We are excited to welcome him and his family to Waterville."

Coach Reeb, the head coach at Seattle University the past three years, is moving across the country for his new position.

"I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity to lead the tennis programs at such a prestigious institution," said Reeb, a native of Belleville, Ill. "This is an exciting time to be joining the school and athletics department, and I can't wait to get started working with our student athletes. We are going to work diligently every day to have the best tennis programs possible, achieve academic excellence, make an impact in the community, and compete for NESCAC championships and work our way up the national rankings."

Reeb was the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) Pacific Northwest Division College Coach of the Year in 2016. As an assistant coach at McKendree, Reeb was the 2010 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) NAIA Men's Region III Assistant Coach of the Year.

Reeb had more than 60 wins between the two programs at Seattle University. The women's team made the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) tourney semifinals all three years. The men's team also made the WAC semifinals in 2016. Both the men's and women's teams earned the 2017 ITA Division I Northwest Region Community Service Award.

"Colby fits in perfectly with what is important to me and where I want to be," Reeb said. "Colby is an institution where you can achieve excellence both on and off the court. I believe in the education of the whole student athlete and a well-rounded student athlete experience. Coaching at Colby allows me the opportunity to pursue that passion."

In two years as head coach at McKendree, Reeb guided the men's program to 35 wins and the women to 31 victories. The men's team qualified for the NCAA Division II Tournament for the first time in school history in 2014 and was ranked in the ITA national poll.

Before spending one season as head coach at Lindenwood in his hometown, Reeb was an assistant coach at Saint Louis University, his alma mater, from August 2010 to July 2012. He started his coaching career as an assistant at McKendree for the 2009-10 academic year.

Reeb was a two-year captain and a four-year member of the men's tennis team at Saint Louis. A business administration major, he was named the outstanding senior in management by the John Cook School of Business. After graduating in May 2009 from Saint Louis, Reeb earned his master's degree from the United States Sports Academy in August 2010.
