Andrea Beaty Coach Utep

Andrea Beaty is anAssistant Volleyball Coach at The University of Texas at El Paso.

Beaty joins the Miner family after serving as head coach of Saint Francis Borgia High School. She led the program to 100 victories over four seasons (2015-18), with three tournament titles, four district championships, four conference championships and two final-four appearances.

“Beyond her playing experiences, being the head coach of volleyball for a high school program for the last four years means she was training and teaching not just elite athletes and high level volleyball players, but also kids that have limited knowledge of the sport,” Wallis said “When you have to teach grass roots volleyball and have a hand in every facet of your program you really start to figure out what you're made of as a coach.”

During her time at the high school level she produced 10 all-state honorees, 18 all-conference selections and saw six players continue their playing careers at the collegiate level.

She also has eight years of experience coaching at the club level with Rockwood Thunder-Springfield Juniors-SMVA. Beaty mentored 22 players that went on to play collegiate volleyball.

“I am extremely excited and honored to be joining the UTEP volleyball staff as well as the El Paso community,” Beaty said. “I knew after the first day in El Paso, that this place was going to be a terrific home filled with amazing people. I would like to thank Ben Wallis, Jim Senter, and Julie Levesque, as well as the rest of the UTEP Athletics department for this great opportunity and for the warm welcome. I am eager to start working with our players on and off the court, with big goals in mind. UTEP is a very special place, and I am thrilled to be a Miner.”

The Pacific, Mo., native began her college playing career at SLU. In her sophomore season (2011) Beaty led the team in kills (357), garnering an A-10 All-Conference First-Team selection and was an A-10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll student.

She concluded her career at Missouri State University, where she amassed more than 1,000 career kills and 200 blocks. Beaty was a two-time All-MVC Second-Team recipient and MVC Scholar-Athlete First-Team member.

She graduated in May of 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
