Ashton Drury - Coach

Ashton Drury (formerly Bell) was a member of the Lady Chaps softball program from 2013-2016. She made her way back to LCU prior to the 2020 season after coaching softball at Frenship High School in Wolfforth, Texas. The Lubbock native and Frenship graduate is third on LCU’s all-time softball list for games played with 222.

Over the span, she hit a career .377 and ranks among career leaders on LCU’s career list of doubles (53, second), total bases (436, tied for second), runs scored (188, third), triples (11, tied for third), home runs (39, fourth), RBI (163, tied for fourth), at-bats (646, fifth) and hits (244, fifth).

The three-time All-Heartland Conference selection was a 2014 NFCA All-American after setting the Heartland Conference single-season record with a .491 batting average (third-highest single-season mark in program history). Drury’s 2014 season also included the Heartland Conference’s single-season record for slugging (.920), and her mark in total bases (161, second), on-base percentage (.533, fourth), home runs (17, tied for seventh) and hits (86, tied for ninth) are also among the top-10 in Heartland Conference single-season leaders. She had two triples hit on April 19, 2014, which is tied for second in the conference in single-game records. Along with success on the field, Drury found success in the classroom, claiming 2015 Academic All-District accolades.

Ashton is married to former LCU baseball student-athlete Dillon Drury. The pair enjoy spending time with their kids: daughter Harper and son Denver.
