Ben Maxwell
Camp Director
Ben Maxwell is entering his fifth season as the men's and women's tennis program's head coach.
Overall, this is his seventh season on the coaching staff of the Eckerd tennis programs.
From August 2011 – December 2013, he held the title of Assistant Coach and served as the program's interim Head Coach in the spring of 2012 for both teams. Maxwell officially took over the reins of the program in the middle of December 2013.
In 2016, Maxwell led the men's tennis program to a record-setting season that saw the Tritons record 12 wins that included seven 9-0 sweeps.
As a player, Maxwell was a Top Ranked Florida and National Junior player.
During his playing career as a former student-athlete, Maxwell was named the Tritons’ Most Valuable Player for the 2009-2010 season. He was also a team captain for all four years of his career at Eckerd.
He was named in the top 20 in the Nation in NCAA Division II doubles and was ranked top 30 in the South Region in NCAA Division II singles.
Staying at his alma mater, where he was a four-year anchor in the Tritons’ rotation, Maxwell previously worked as the Eckerd College Coordinator of Fitness and Wellness (campus activities) from August 2011 through December 2013.
He is also a Head Racquet Stringer and Technician for top level Junior and ATP Tour events.
