Bruce Asper

Bruce Asper has been an influential volleyball coach since the mid 1980's and is a former pro beach volleyball player.
Bruce Asper’s coaching career started running summer clinics in the mid 1980’s while he was in college and playing pro beach volleyball. Many of Orange County’s legendary players, including April Ross and Misty May, were introduced to volleyball through those clinics. In 1987 he took over coaching the 14U Girls’ team, and soon after the 14U Boys’ team, for Orange County Volleyball Club, where he coached under his mentor, the legendary Charlie Brande. After a decade-long career coaching 14U, he moved on to start a family and a successful commercial real estate career. He returned to coaching in 2010 and has been running the same beginner and intermediate clinics where he got his start ever since. His passion for encouraging young players and growing the game is unparalleled, and his upbeat attitude and energy are perfectly suited for encouraging young players to grow.
