Formato, a Lancaster, N.Y. native, returns home for the 2018 season, after serving as women’s lacrosse head coach at Edinboro University for the past two seasons. She guided the Scots to a school-record-tying seven wins in her first season,

A pair of Fighting Scots earned All-PSAC honors under her tutelage, which marked the first time Edinboro had more than one honoree. Cydney Hrycko and Paige Skinner were both accorded second team All-PSAC honors, the first time an Edinboro player earned more than a spot on the third team.

A midfielder, she finished as the third-leading scorer with 18 goals and five assists for 23 points as a senior in 2013. She added 25 draw controls, 16 ground balls, and 11 caused turnovers while playing in 15 matches, with 14 starts.
