On Nov. 11, 2016, the former Hawk standout returned to Maryland Eastern Shore as a coach after an illustrious four-year career in the Maroon & Gray. Besides being the team's Travel Coordinator, she also works on evaluating talent and recruiting future Hawks. She shares opponent scouting duties with the rest of the staff and helps with all other day-to-day operations of the program.

Her primary positional coaching responsibility is with the guards, but she works with players at all positions on the roster.

She also directs the program's Hawks Basketball Academy summer camp for kids ages 7-17.

Monroe-Gaskins (then Morton) ended her collegiate career with 1,230 points, which is fourth all-time in the program’s Division I history. The Eastern Shore native also ranks fourth in total assists (296) and total steals (188).

In her freshman year, she won Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Rookie of the Year while earning a spot on the conference’s All-Rookie Team. Morton was selected to the All-MEAC team in her senior year after posting more than 11 points-per-game (PPG).

In high school, she scored over 2,500 career points at Mardela and named conference Player of the Year as a senior. She was selected to the Bayside First Team and Warriors’ Most Valuable Player (MVP) all four years while guiding her squad to four consecutive regular season and Bayside Championships in that same time span.

She lives in Salisbury with her husband Shaquille.
