Christian Thompson enters her sixth season as the head coach of the Denver women's tennis program in 2018-19. During her tenure, the three-time Summit League Coach of the Year (2016, 2017, 2018) has led the Pioneers to five-consecutive Summit League Championship titles and five-consecutive NCAA tournament appearances.

Since being named head coach in June 2013, Thompson has posted an 88-33 record (19-0 Summit League), coached three Summit League Players of the Year (2016, 2017, 2018), 25 All-Summit League selections and two Summit League Newcomers of the Year (2016, 2018). After recording a 21-3 (6-0) mark in the 2015-2016 season, Thompson signed a six-year extension with the program.

In 2017, Thompson pushed the Pioneers to a 19-5 record (4-0 Summit League) and into the NCAA tournament where Denver earned a 4-3 win against No. 25 USC to mark its first NCAA tournament victory since 2008.

Thompson joined the Pioneers after serving the previous three seasons as an assistant coach at Yale where she helped lead the Bulldogs to a 59-15 record during that span, including a sparkling 18-3 mark in Ivy League play, three ECAC Indoor Team Championships and a pair of Ivy League titles. The Bulldogs also reached a program-best No. 18 ranking. Thompson, who was named Ivy League Assistant Coach of the Year in 2010, served as Yale's interim head coach in the fall of 2011.

As a player, Thompson starred at Notre Dame from 2004-2007. She was a three-time All-America choice in doubles along with her twin sister, Catrina Thompson, from 2005-07. The siblings were the top-ranked doubles tandem nationally in 2005 and 2006, captured the Riviera/ITA All-America doubles title in 2005 and finished second overall in 2004 and 2006. Christian Thompson was a five-time BIG EAST All-Tournament Team selection before embarking on her professional career where she achieved WTA world rankings as high as No. 437 in doubles and No. 936 in singles. The Las Vegas native was inducted into the Nevada Tennis Hall of Fame in 2008.

Thompson attended Bishop Gorman High School, where she earned All-America honors all four years, posting an undefeated recorded during her entire prep career. Thompson guided Bishop Gorman to a Nevada state championship and won the doubles title. She was a three-time state champion and team MVP, winning conference and regional titles on four occasions.
