Chuck Newsom

Chuck Newsom is the Head Volleyball Coach at Timber Creek High School.

Chuck Newsom has over 30 years of coaching experience and has been the Head Volleyball coach at Timber Creek for 4 years. Coach Newsom believes that fundamentals of volleyball are the key assets to becoming a successful volleyball player. We believe that it is important to place emphasis on being aggressive offensively, defensively, and playing with passion.

Before coaching Volleyball, Coach Newsom has coached numerous Division 1, 11, and 111 athletes in Football, Basketball, and Track and field. Newsom believes that focusing on the foundation and emphasis on character building, our student athletes will have fun and enjoy our camp experience.

Coach Newsom is originally from Pennsauken NJ, where he graduated from Pennsauken H.S. He went on to Glassboro St. College graduating with a bachelor's degree. Coach Newsom went on to further his education and received a Master degree from Marygrove University in the Art of teaching.

While teaching at Timber Creek, Mr. Newsom was the teacher of the year 2021 and was nominated to the Hall of Fame of the New Jersey coach of the year.
