Chuck Reid

Fra Coach Chuck Reid

As Chuck enters his 32nd year of coaching, most recently being named as the Head Football Coach at the Hill School in Pottstown, PA. At The Hill, he also serves as a Mathematics Instructor and as an Admissions Associate.

Chuck began his coaching career as a high school line coach, and then as an offensive coordinator in Newport News, Virginia. He has also been a college defensive coordinator and a high school head coach. Chuck is coming to HIll from Franklin Road Academy in Nashville, TN where he coached the secondary and the running backs. Prior to moving to Nashville, Chuck has spent eight seasons at The Loomis Chaffee School where he has lead the program's resurgence and was their winningest coach in the past half of a century. Before Loomis, Chuck was the head coach at Proctor Academy, where he lead them to their first, and second, Evergreen League Championships going 8-0 in both of those seasons. Several of Chuck's former players have enjoyed successful college football experiences at schools such as UConn, Boston College, Yale, Florida, Cal, USC, Dartmouth, Holy Cross, New Hampshire, Williams, Amherst, Wesleyan, University of Chicago, Lafayette, Colgate, and Brown, to name a few. Chuck believes that academics must be the top priority, and that a "team first" attitude is necessary for success, both in football and in life. Part of Coach Reid's philosophy is that athletes should compete in as many sports as possible, and should be actively involved in the arts programs as well. He also feels that being a well-rounded student is critical for success in life.
