Claire Kallio joined the UCCS women’s lacrosse coaching staff in January 2020 as the goalkeepers’ coach. She is in her fourth season with the Mountain Lions in 2023.

Most recently, Kallio spent the 2017 and 2018 seasons as an assistant coach at Colorado State University-Pueblo. In her last season with the ThunderWolves, CSUP had six members earn All-RMAC honors, including one First Team selection.

Prior to joining the Pack’s coaching staff, Kallio spent three seasons as head coach at NCAA DII Notre Dame College in South Euclid, Ohio. She led the Falcons to a 16-19 record in her time at Notre Dame College, and in her final season, three players earned All-Mountain East Conference honors, including two First Team selections.

Before Notre Dame College, Kallio coached in an assistant role at Medina High School in Medina, Ohio, her alma mater, and Marquette High School in Saint Louis, Mo. She helped the Bees win the 2012 Ohio State Title and made the Final Four in 2013.

Collegiately, Kallio played at Fontbonne University in St. Louis, Mo. As a goalkeeper, she set the school records in wins and saves. In her senior campaign, she set the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference record for most saves in a regular season with 160 stops. Kallio started in net for the Griffins all four years and earned MWLC First Team All-Conference honors in 2011. She was a co-captain and named the 2008 Most Valuable Defender and the 2011 Most Valuable Teammate.
