Coach SPO - Duke University

Sean-Patrick Oswald, or “Coach SPO,” has been working with Smoky Mountain Running Camp since 2021. He graduated from Duke University in 2011 as the school record holder in the indoor 800, Distance Medley Relay, and indoor/outdoor 4x800. Since that time he has been a volunteer coach at the high school and collegiate level, including his current position with Duke University, where he works with the men’s and women’s Cross Country and Distance athletes.

Coach SPO keeps coming back to SMRC for the beautiful training in Asheville, to continue his own learning from the accomplished staff, and to help share his experiences competing at the college level. As well, he comes back to prove that he and Coach Cowart can put together a 4x4 that terrifies the collegiate athletes.
