Courtney Lucas
Assistant Camp Director
Courtney Lucas is a proud Washingtonian and former student-athlete at Friendship Collegiate Academy, where she helped lead the Lady Knights to four consecutive league championships and the school’s first-ever Charter League title. She went on to play four years of college basketball at The Lincoln University of Pennsylvania, serving as Team Captain and helping secure the program’s first CIAA Northern Division Championship.
After college, Lucas returned to Friendship Collegiate as Associate Head Coach, where she spent five years guiding the Lady Knights to continued success. She now serves as the Head Coach of the Ballou High School Lady Knights, where she is rebuilding the program through discipline, development, and mentorship.
Lucas also coaches the New World 9th Grade Girls AAU team and is the co-founder of Team RISE, a player development and mentorship program for girls in Washington, D.C. and Prince George’s County. Her coaching philosophy centers on structure, confidence, and fundamentals; preparing young women to compete at the next level and lead with purpose.
In addition to her work on the court, Lucas is a Financial Literacy and Senior Consultancy teacher at Ballou High School and leads the 3DE Experiential Learning Program for 9th and 10th grade students. Whether in the gym or the classroom, her mission is the same: to show up for the next generation and empower them with the tools to thrive.
