Curtis Thorn - Camp Director

Curtis Thorn is the founder of CT Development and a former professional soccer player with experience across the U.S. soccer pathway. With a career that spans collegiate, professional, and elite coaching environments, Curtis brings firsthand knowledge of what it takes to progress to the next level. His mission is to inspire, educate, and guide the next generation of players through purposeful development.

CT Development began taking shape over three years ago while Curtis was still playing professionally. Over the course of his six-year professional career, he competed for teams in Georgia and Miami, Florida, while also coaching at the Division I collegiate level, training within youth academy systems, and earning multiple coaching certifications. Despite exciting opportunities to continue playing and coach full-time within a professional organization, Curtis made the decision to retire, hang up the cleats, and dedicate his full attention to building CT Development as a platform for player growth and mentorship.

Originally moving to the United States in 2018, Curtis played two seasons of college soccer at Nova Southeastern University from 2018 to 2019. He made 33 appearances for the Sharks, scoring four goals and registering multiple assists. During his time at NSU, he was named to the Fall SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll in both seasons, earned All-South Region honors from the D2CCA and United Soccer Coaches, and was voted Team MVP in 2019.

Curtis turned professional on August 27, 2020, signing with USL League One side South Georgia Tormenta FC. He made his professional debut on September 11, 2020, starting in a 2–2 draw against Union Omaha. In 2022, he vice-captained Tormenta FC to its first-ever USL League One National Cup, marking a historic season for the club and drawing interest from higher-level leagues.

In 2023, Curtis signed with USL Championship side Miami FC. Despite injury setbacks, he appeared in 19 matches, recording two assists and one goal. His final professional appearance came in October 2024, closing a career defined by resilience, leadership, and a deep understanding of player development—values that now sit at the core of CT Development.
