Dana Young

Dana is entering her eleventh year as the Co-Director of the Nike Tennis Camp at the University of Minnesota.

For the last ten years she ran the camps with her husband, Geoff Young, former men’s tennis coach for the University of Minnesota. Dana was an All-Big Ten, NCAA Qualifier, and Senior Student-Athlete of the Year for the Gopher Women’s Tennis Program in 1996. She went on to become the assistant coach for the Gophers before leading the University of Denver Pioneers. She was the Women’s Head Tennis Coach for the Pioneers from 2000-2006. Twice the program won the Sun Belt Conference Championship and twice she was the Coach of the Year for the conference. She returned back to Minnesota for her husband’s role as the Head Men’s Coach in 2006.

For the last sixteen years Dana has been the Head Tennis Pro for the Baseline Tennis Center. Dana has three children: Gavin, who plays college tennis for the University of Michigan; Karin, who plays college tennis for the University of Oregon; and Zan, who is an aspiring tennis player himself at the age of 13.
