Darrell Knowlton

Darrell Knowlton is the head coach of men's rugby at Bethal College.

Knowlton joined Bethel College rugby as an assistant coach before the 2016 season with a primary focus on the forwards. Knowlton brings with him over 27 years of experience as a rugby player, administrator, referee and coach. Knowlton started his collegiate career as a swimmer at the University of Findlay. It wasn’t long before he transferred to the University of Central Missouri where he started playing rugby and earned his Bachelor of Science in criminal justice. In 2002, he received his Master of Social Work from Indiana University Northwest. He has worked at Culver Academies as a licensed clinical social worker for seven years along with being the head varsity rugby coach for 12 seasons. Due to collegiate rugby season being in the fall, Knowlton is able to continue leading his program at Culver while assisting the Pilots. In addition, Knowlton currently is on staff with the National Eagle Impact Rugby Academy and also works with the high school all-americans staff and players during camps and tours. He has coached several high school select side teams and has worked with many collegiate teams as a consultant.
