David Pomeroy
David Pomeroy is the head women's lacrosse coach at Davis & Elkins college.
David Pomeroy is in his third season as the head coach of the Davis & Elkins women’s lacrosse program in 2023-2024, he is also heading in to his 11th year coaching in the NCAA, and his 17th year of coaching women’s lacrosse.
Pomeroy has continued to develop his program on and off the field as his team routinely earns the D&E President’s or Dean’s List academic honors and continues to set new records on the turf.
The 2022-23 season featured 4 All Mountain East Conference (MEC) awards including Marissa Cuevas, Ari Hinton, Griselle Rosado, & Shanyn Furlong. Marissa Cuevas also ranked amongst the Top 3 in National Rankings in Saves in a Season, Saves Per Game, & Save Percentage.
The 2021-22 season featured 3 All MEC awards including Marissa Cuevas, Ari Hinton, & Emily Smith. Marissa Cuevas also earned MEC Defensive Player of the Year, her second time after winning this award for the 2021 season.
Pomeroy took over the D&E women’s lacrosse program after spending three seasons as the head coach at Marian University in Wisconsin, where he was the program's first head coach.
Before going to Marian, Pomeroy began his NCAA head coaching career as the program’s first head coach at Northland College in Wisconsin. Prior to being a head coach, Pomeroy was an assistant coach, goalie coach, and recruiting coordinator at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) under head coach Mindy Richmond from 2013-2016.
Pomeroy earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Rowan University. He also completed his master’s degree in Sport Management from IUP. He resides in Elkins.
